That 2A shoutout was conspicuous for its utter irrelevance to the sentence. How does rioting or looting affect anyone's right to own a gun?

Not hard to see some gun happy idiots seeing that as a green light from their orange god.

Saw someone mention this, and it makes perfect sense. Good chance it was an adlib. His notes had 1st amendment, but he adlibed 2nd, because he knows that is the favorite one of his base.

Yet. Lets see what perpetual Trump lovers Kemp and DeSantis do this week.

The Episcopal priests and the church leaders should call the press to the church today and make a formal statement on tv denouncing Trump and his actions. Then they should let the press broadcast the priests reconsecrating the church to remove the taint.

And it's time for the Vatican to step up and have its DC hierarchy publicly rebuke Trump and call for all Catholics to stand for justice for Floyd.

For a brief moment, I almost confused the guy for being Michael Ironside.
Now I just want to hear him say of Trump “it says it all in his file. He’s a wild card. Flies by the seat of his pants.” Ala Top Gun.

Ironically, isn't this whole situation one of the major reasons why Americans need the 2nd Amendment? To protect them from the government... (According to Trump supporters of course) But I guess that doesn't count when a Republican is President :whatever:

That whole concept and line of thought is a sham and it's gonna eat away at America like a cancer. it already is. Biggest lie ever told.

Protect yourself from government how? How many shots will you get off before the cops, national guard, military railroads you? Better save that money and hire PMC's to operate on US soil, since all bets are apparently off now.

Honest question here: I am happy to see demonstrations and protests in order to start the dialogue about the need for change. But do you think that this will move the needle at all? Or will this further entrench people?

I was reading an article about James Dolan who said that the reason the Knicks organization hasn’t spoken out is because he doesn’t think that they are any more qualified to express their opinion than anyone else. (Obviously this is a bit flawed as the logical counter statement would be that he is just as qualified as anyone else to give his opinion, but that’s a different story). People commented universally on the statement as “what a smart man” and “I wish all celebrities would stop telling me how to think” (again, the irony that they elected a celebrity to be president and then he told them that celebrities are bad so they believe him). So it seems as though people are just as entrenched and you are starting to hear more people blaming George Floyd and defending the police. Is there any hope for change within this generation?

People like that only think that when said celebrity has a different stance on an issue than they do.

In my view...Win... lose... it's an unending struggle. Fascism, racism, bigotry and entitlement will rise up again, and it will be hit back again, and sometimes it'll be on top; sometimes it'll be on the bottom. Sometimes, we'll want stronger cops, sometimes we'll want more freedoms. There is an ebb and flow to this, I think.

I believe this will definitely move the needle. This moment is historically significant. But will it settle the issue of bad policing or inequality in this country? No it will not. That's asking too much unfortunately. This is a war that must be fought, but can never be won.

I would say it's the 2nd biggest lie. The biggest, and the one upon which the modern Republican party is based, is that poor and working class white people have an ally in the wealthy and the powerful in this country. And they are better served by aligning with them against a common enemy, the poor and working class of other races, religions, ethnicities and immigration status.

Disgusting. Doesn’t really show strength when everyone knows you need an army for you to come out of your bunker.

I’m an evangelical Christian SJW. And this makes me weep. When you read the book of Revelation and it talks about antichrists this is exhibit A of what it is talking about. (not the Antichrist. Trump isn’t that smart to be him).

“A new command I give you. Love one another. By this, all men will know that you follow me: if you love one another.” —Jesus

I seriously don’t know how people can be so easily deceived by Trump
