The news needs to become more boring.
That is a good thing, not a bad thing.

Oh Jeff you haven't learned.
Congress authorized the USPS to borrow an additional $10 billion from the Treasury Department for emergency operations in an early coronavirus relief bill. But postal leaders have yet to access the money over disagreements with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, who attached terms on the loan that would turn over operations of much of the Postal Service to his department.
.....
The changes also worry vote-by-mail advocates, who insist that any policy that slows delivery could imperil access to mailed and absentee ballots. It reinforces the need, they say, for Congress to provide the agency emergency coronavirus funding.
“Attacks on USPS not only threaten our economy and the jobs of 600,000 workers. With our states now reliant on mail voting to continue elections during the pandemic, the destabilizing of the post office is a direct attack on American democracy itself,” said Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. (D-N.J.).
I think Trump needs to take that cognitive test again.
A proper lockdown followed by everyone doesn’t need to last long to eliminate most of the virus. Instead at this rate it can go on indefinitely as there are always enough idiots not playing ball. One of the big issues, is everyone is afraid to enforce the rules in a meaningful way. If we did that, didn't allow people going about without mask and such, maybe we could do this. But so few are meaningfully enforcing the rules, and then they end up with the crazy person that goes viral on the internet.
Yeap. If everyone had truly locked down for a 2 months, then the federal government mobilized testing and more importantly contact tracing, we would be done with this by now.A proper lockdown followed by everyone doesn’t need to last long to eliminate most of the virus. That's the real dumb position Trump placed himself in by downplaying all this. The quickest, most efficient way to reopen the economy was to take this all very seriously from the start. But he turned a pandemic into a culture war, that forced him to downplay it all. Just look at how treated wearing a mask for so long, until right now. Should have been doing it from the start, Lone Ranger.Yeap. If everyone had truly locked down for a 2 months, then the federal government mobilized testing and more importantly contact tracing, we would be done with this by now.
But because idiots think government wants to track their movements and stifle their freedoms, we will continue to suffer for it. People put individualism ahead of societal benefits too much.

Trying to rush the economy back after downplaying this from the start leaving in no position to do it, is sinister stuff. Doing that while trying to hide the facts and figures? Monsters is too nice of word for them.Sinister stuff. Suppress anything that makes them look bad (which is a lot of stuff).
