🇺🇸 F'dup Chapters in American History (The Trump Years) --- Part 30

Something tells me this will never stop even after the Inauguration. Biden will have a target on his back until 2024.
I'm honestly going to be shocked if there isn't at least one high profile assassination attempt over the next 4 years. Even if Trump disappeared from the face of the earth the minute he left office, the MAGA cult is too far down this road already. And let's face it, Trump isn't going away, and once he leaves office there will be nothing holding him back from fanning the flames to get his revenge.

Tomorrow America will make non-history as Joe Biden becomes the 45th white guy to become president and @Lily Adler closes this thread.

If Trump runs again in 2024 and wins can we get a sequel thread titled: The F’UPED CHAPTERS IN AMERICAN HISTORY REDUX: THE DONALD STRIKES BACK? That would be a rather fitting title. :o
Please don’t.

If there's a chance of getting Trump out of the GOP... he will
This right here is going to be a McConnells focus. He’ll weigh the pluses and minuses for the GOP and make his decision based on that and not on what is right or wrong.

He knows that the GOP will be hammered in 2022 if Trump is still part of it... he also knows that the GOP will be hammered in 2022 if Trump isn't part of it.... He's gotta decide which option creates the least amount of damage in 2022 and in 2024

McConnell won't vote to convict.
Yeah...I wouldn’t hold my breath on that, but I don’t think you should be so sure he won’t. I mean, I certainly think there’s a much greater chance of him voting for conviction than the first impeachment(where there was zero chance he’d do so).

If McConnell thinks about the long-term health of the party then preventing the threat of another Trump presidency would be for the best. Donald has proven to be too unstable and damaging to the party for them to risk the possibility of four more years.

Sure, Mitch got his tax cuts and conservative judges and all but Trump’s recent actions in the last few months shows the relationship between the GOP and Trump is kind of like the relationship between the Joker and the Mob in the Dark Knight - an uneasy and uncomfortable alliance with an unstable mad man at the top crossing lines even normal corrupt members wouldn’t.

Also, remember; Mitch apparently blames Trump for losing the Senate and we know from other reports he’s furious with Trump over the Capitol attack that he instigated, and his lack of remorse for his actions that day. So it stands to reason there’s a strong chance he will break from his party & vote on conviction, which could instill upon otherwise craven GOP senators the bravery needed to put their careers on the line to vote on conviction.

So I’d say it’s 50/50 at this point. I’m just as confident he’ll convict as I am that he won’t.

Personally don’t think McConnell won’t convict. Yes he wants to prevent Cheetoh from running again but he can’t risk other Senators losing their seats.

Don't count on Mitch to vote for a conviction. Schumer has already announced that they're compromising their majority control to appease and unify the Senate. This is all going to be swept under the rug. Rinse and ****ing repeat in four years.

I think he's facing the best bad option... he knows that he will see Senators losing their seats in 2022. He's just gonna side with whichever option gives him the least number of losses

"Please bring up to 5 guests..."

Trump has been having trouble getting people to come to his send off and has even invited Anthony Scaramucci in desperation.

I’m leaning towards thinking he won’t as well but I think this time he could pleasantly surprise us.

So in a bit of a happy coincidence, this video just popped up on my YouTube recommended videos feed.

24 hours until the **** stain is gone but not forgotten.
I’ve literally been counting down by the hour except when I’m asleep. The first thing I did when I woke up this morning was looked at the clock. 5 AM therefore 28 hours.

Hmm. I think I’m much more confident in think McConnell will vote to convict after reading this.

Oh man, this is pretty encouraging. I still find it hard to believe McConnell would vote to convict unless he was pretty confident he had the votes in the Senate.

if this is a bad analogy... then i'll delete.... but he's sounding like an abused spouse after they've gotten free of the abuser...
