That scene with the (seemingly) failed military rescue was cool. That's the kind of stuff I was looking forward to with this show.

You'd hope. But to be honest, with all the weapons the military has at their disposal, we will see how all those zombies spread the disease after being locked up in that arena.

"Cobalt" This episode was a bit better than the last and I thought the tension throughout was pretty good. The military prison camp and medical center scenes were really unsettling. I'm not sure what to make of the salesman character just yet and am curious as to why he saved Nick. I am liking the Salazar character despite him taking the young soldier hostage and torturing him. Travis' ride along was interesting and I wasn't expecting the military unit to become overwhelmed so easily. Liza having to shoot Ofelia in the head was kind of heartbreaking. I'm curious to see who survives the finale next week.

I'm finally watching tonight's episode. What the hell is going on? Some "salesman" talking to that nut and making him lose his **** even more. The Spanish family holding a soldier hostage. Total ******** soldier in charge of the rest of them.

Things kicked up a notch, that's for true. My reaction to the slick salesman type was initially "Who the **** is this guy?!", and then by the end of the episode it had evolved into "Who the **** IS this guy?!".

I liked the salesman from the moment I saw him because he was interesting. Confident, seems smart. Basically different from "the family". And he got rid of that weak dude. The daughter is just awful and getting more awful with each scene.

I liked the episode. Can't believe he was torturing the soldier. He's a keeper in a zombie apocalypse. And the father needs to toughen up.

I don't have a high opinion of the average human, but the premise seems rather stupid, and hard to buy.

The army is going to kill off all the healthy people so they don't become zombies. Why? That's just stupid. What are they fighting for exactly? Land? Non-infected humans are a valuable commodity.

Also, the average American soldier isn't trained or conditioned kill civilians, much less American civilians.

Dropping napalm on a zombie infested city is one thing, but killing a bunch of people in the suburbs?

I was really hoping we got a glimpse at who was really making all these horrible calls with the military. Is there even a government? President? Isolated military groups over taken, ok, maybe, but the entire worlds military in a matter of weeks?

I wondered that myself. Presumably there is still a working chain of command. The government / military has contingency plans for disasters, including nuclear and biological warfare.

Obviously a zombie apocalypse isn't something they plan for, but the government isn't going to collapse in a week.

To be fair, they were going into a close quarters apartment complex, which is super easy to get flanked by zombies with multiple corners and doors. Let alone these solders are ill equipped when it comes to dark rooms minus their flashlights. Once they see their buddies getting bit and dying, it's very easy to panic.

I'm sure there is. I don't think governments collapse that fast nor do militaries worldwide. I mean, from the first episode to now, it has been like what, a month since the outbreak? The way I see it, if there is no government and leader, these soldiers would have jumped ship, and gone off to find their families and friends.

Um...the shakespearian Black dude is on my nerve...

I don't get why they're killing healthy folks...

At this point, the group to make it to next season for me:

Madison- She's been dry to me but I see she has potential to be a good, level-headed leader

Liza- Because she has medical skills and it adds tension that she's Travis's ex.

Ofelia- I don't think the apple falls to far from the tree. I think she will come around to survivor mode after her father dies (we can see that coming)

Nick- He's a wildcard. The shows needs that.

Travis: The only reason I want him to survive is because I feel he would be the glue for the group

I definitely want this show to slow down and show the inevitable decline of society on every level. It makes for an interesting backdrop for people who are trying to hold on to humanity, which should be the subplot of this series. This world shouldn't be the take-no-prisoners-cannibal-killer-crazy world...yet.

It's funny how in TWD, Rick and his group are in Alexandria with people, who are more-or-less representative of the mindset of folks in FTWD...two worlds colliding...

I think by Season 2, the show will have better legs and find it's rhythm.

Wished we could have seen the carnage in the library. They went in with almost a full platoon to aid another squad already in there and only 3 made it out! That's just wrong.

Not liking the barber as much as I did before.

I hope we see Tobias in next week's season finale.They'll need him with the military pulling out.

aw see I think Daniel is the most interesting character and I would like to follow his story, hope he makes it, don't care for his daughter. And I'm over Tobias, I hope Chris dies, stop that weird **** between him and his almost step sister whos looks are the only thing going for her on the show so far.

I'm a little confused at the injuries at that 'hospital' why so many fractures, contusions? Bite marks or related injuries I can see, or just general sick people, but are those soldiers getting hurt by humans? Like rioters?

I noticed that all the american flags in this episode were backwards accept for the last one we see before the guy shows the drug addict kid that he has a key. I was like, this has to be some kind of symbolism until I googled it and found out that:

"The blue field of stars should always be in the highest position of honor.
