Sony was reluctant to use that character because of her similarity to another character. I'm wondering if they'll go with a different alter ego.

Yeah, I dunno about that. Her character was pretty forgettable and I didn't feel like there was really any sort of set up with her. She just seemed like a convenient plot device for Harry. They could easily come up with another character named Felicia who turns out to be Felicia Hardy/Black Cat and I doubt many would actually notice.
