FF doesn't get near enough credit

Honestly, I think we're lucky with how much this film does get praised - postively - in here. I mean, after reading everyone's posts on it (here in the FF boards), it seemed like the general consensus was that it was barely mediocre, a dissapointing, but still enjoyable offering. When I went out and listened to non-fan opinion, it was bloody horrible.

To me, the movie didn't feel like the Fantastic Four. The FF is supposed to be like the old Doc Savage pulps. Full of very weird sci fi stuff like lost cities and demon gods, but grounded by the characters. The movie didn't have any of that. It was just kind of stupid.

Okay how can they have all that crazy weird hit when it's a orgins movie?

you want them doing all kinds of stuff right away from the get go?

don't explain how they got there powers? just blowing stuff up?

So it's okay to bash SR but not for others to bash FF. Face it both movies disappointed a lot of people.

you know what i'm not gonna even f'ing bother!

because no matter what i say i always get *****ed at!

and i never said SR sucked or anything. you're such a A**hole sometimes you know that?

You may have not said it sucked, but you were sure on the frontlines of bashing it when the box office grosses came in. You didn't even watch the movie and what a day ago you went into the 2007 Summer Movie Thread to make a snide comment against CM and SR? I know you have an axe to grind against him.

whats CM?

oh so everyone is allowed a opinion except me? thats such bull****!

Do you ever see the forest and not the tree JAL?

It's not that you aren't entitled to you opinion, just dont' be a hypocrite about it.

Hey your right Superman Rules

FF sucks we get it.

thanks for clearing every thing up.

Marvel is such a piece of crap with only one good movie franchise. there a 1 trick pony like you said.

Didn't I just say SR dissapointed a lot of people?

Now who's putting words in other people's mouths?

it's just the general expression i get.

hell people like the 94 version better so wghats that tell you?

Of course not. But it didn't have the feel of those kinds of stories. It just felt like a stupid comedy with crappy action sequences.

Many of my friends some vaguely familiar with the old cartoon loved it over X3 and SR.

It's all over the place in terms in opinions go with this movie.

I still watch this almost every 1 to 2 weeks.I find it very enjoyable like the Spider-Man films and far better than the hump of poop X3 was.

The jokes just seemed so pointless. And definately didn't feel like the FF.

ok....I enjoyed the jokes....it was lack of other things IMO, that lowered my enjoyment.:)

I don't know what credit the movie deserves other than for being a very enjoyable couple of hours, which I thought it was. In no way did this good-humored, inoffensive film deserve the critical drubbing it got. It was a nice example of journalistic groupthink in action.

Was it perfect? No, but the warmth of the primary performances, they way they tested each others' patience yet took care of one another, really sold it for me. I also enjoyed its unpretentiousness, which is kind of a breath of fresh air for this film genre. It's a very eager-to-please movie, and for the most part, it succeeds. I know quite a few people who saw it and only know one who didn't enjoy it. And she...I'm not kidding now...had recently suffered a brain injury. So, you know, her judgment was a little off. :)

I do hope for a sequel that is more tight dramatically and more polished in its production values.

FF's weakest part was (sorry Kel and JAL) Alba's acting, specially the way she delivered her lines. I also think they went a bit too far with Johny Storm's cockiness. Hopefully in the next movie they'll have all the issues resolved and I really hope they don't mess up the Silver Surfer and Galactus..

I wanted to like this movie, I really did but it wasnt good at all.

Thats ok, the fact that you have to apologize for it makes it kind of weak, but ok....your entitled to your opinion. And if thats your weak point, well you missed alot of the editing problems, cgi problems, and shooting time problems....thats my opinion.:)

BTW, Jessica is not why I'm here, so next time, don't worry about an apology just give your opinion like everyone else.
