I'm getting the 360.I'm just curious how big of a deal this game being on the 360 is in reality.
I'll be getting it on the PS3 because I don't have a 360

I bet that the same deal will happen to Tekken and the future of Metal Gear Solid.
And that´s the big problem with Sony, besides GT, the other big franchises (i mean from back on the PS1) are not 1st parties, so, there is no reason for them to go exclusive.
Namcon games are all going to the 360, so, why not Tekken?
I believe so, JRPG are getting more fans in the 360 with each passing game (Blue Dragon sold 0.29M units in the western market, Lost Odyssey sold 0.65M...so, it´s getting there). The question is, will there be a market for FF on 360? At least enough of one to justify Squares-Enix doing another game on it? 360 is easily the most westernized of the consoles. Will their audience want Final Fantasy?
I think 360 only owners will get it now for the sake that its avaialble on their system and they dont have to go dish out $400 on another system to play it, but for the most part, gamers who dont own either system will still go and get it for the PS3. Why? Bc FF vs XIII is still a PS3 exclusive. Unless that changes , I think thats what will help drive sales of FF XIII for the PS3 over the 360. As of right now, owning the PS3 is the only way to experience the complete FF XIII saga as its released on home consoles. Get the 1 game on the 360 and you're only getting one piece of it. If Sony is smart, they would realize that they need to do damage control and secure an exclusive deal for VS XIII and push and market the PS3 as the definitive option of experiencing the complete FF XIII sagaIsildur´s Heir;15319509 said:I believe so, JRPG are getting more fans in the 360 with each passing game (Blue Dragon sold 0.29M units in the western market, Lost Odyssey sold 0.65M...so, it´s getting there).

It depends on how well both are making at the time of release, because no one will buy a PS3 when having a 360 (and vice versa). when the game is going for both.
The same happend with GTA4, many said that the game would sell more in the PS3 because it was a Playstation franchise....it never did, it sold more on th 360 (like i knew it would, no one would buy a PS3 for the game having a 360).
thats why I said home consoles. I really dont view cell phones as a valid gaming platform. The developers themselves have said that while all three games (FF 13, FF versus 13, and FF Agito 13) all take place in the same universe but aren't related to each other directly. Neither of them are are a sequel or prequel to each other. The stories told in each game don't carry over to either one.
Even if one has a PS3, they'd still be missing out on, by your own words "the complete FF13 saga" since one of the games (Agito 13) will only be available on mobile phones.
You can´t get to that assumption on FFXIII alone, because people that don´t have either system can go either way, there are more games in the market than FF.I think 360 only owners will get it now for the sake that its avaialble on their system and they dont have to go dish out $400 on another system to play it, but for the most part, gamers who dont own either system will still go and get it for the PS3.
I don´t believe people will actually care for it, only FF hardcore do.Why? Bc FF vs XIII is still a PS3 exclusive. Oh I get that they arent related, but a fan of FF is going to want both and as of now, the only way to eexperience both is to have a PS3. If I didnt have either a 360 or a PS3 and Ive been waiting on FF to make the jump, I would still choose the PS3 bc its the system that will have the next 2 games, whereas the 360 will only have 1. That could all change, but I can only go by whats official right nowTrue, although the developers themselves have said that FF13 and Versus 13 are not related to each other even though both are set in the same universe.
So a gamer won't have to play both to get the full story, since both stories are stand alones.
All but Final Fantasy vs XIII. The only 2 SE RPGs, the PS3 arent getting are Star Ocean and Infinite Undiscovery, the former being the only big of the twoIsildur´s Heir;15320361 said:You can´t get to that assumption on FFXIII alone, because people that don´t have either system can go either way, there are more games in the market than FF.
In fact, based on JRPG alone, people will jump unto the 360 faster than the PS3 because all SquareEnix games are there.
You got that right. FF are a complex set of games and arent a pick up and play type of thing. They have a large and loyal fanbase and will follow it wherever it goes. I dont see the average gamer caring much eitherI don´t believe people will actually care for it, only FF hardcore do.
Besides, Versus can still end on the 360 too, which i believe it will if the SquareEnix games end on being a huge hit on the 360.
Ive read that as well about their current financial standing. They'll make their sales in Japan via the PS3 and in NA/EUR via the 360/PS3.Besides, last time i read, SquareEnix lost money last year, so, what better way to return that money launch the game unto a system where software sells more than on the PS3?
More even when their relation with Microsoft is so strong?
I wouldnt be too surprised either and thats defiently something I dont see people caring too much about bc fighting games arent big anymore. I dont see why any 3rd party developer would release a fighting game on 1 system since they arent that popular anymore, nor are they the big sellers they once were.Mark my words, Tekken is the next one to go to the 360....
