I think im the only one who liked the return of Taker and HHH without saying a single word. (obviously Taker is gonna win the match) I wanna see that match.

And please WWE make the Lawler vs Cole match.. That's gonna be funny!

I dug the silence as well. There's so much history between the two, I don't think words matter at this point.

My only gripe is, Kane, Nexus and Sheamus are all forgotten about, which is properly best for now.

I liked the silent stare as well. I can see where others are coming from when saying it was weak.

No kidding. It caught me off guard because I haven't heard Cena bust a diss rap for almost six years now! I am one of the few people supporting Cena against The Rock should the feud take place. Hogan did the honors for Rock, now he needs to do it for Cena (or Orton) and no that bullsh** handicapped match at WM 20 doesn't count since Rock didn't take the pinfall.

One of the few? I believe everyone in here is support of Cena vs the Rock at Wrestlemania. :funny:

Yeah, but I dont wanna see a Taker/Kane match any time soon, its not the best thing at the moment for them I guess. But, I would've love to see HHH vs Sheamus. I think Sheamus is a better wrestler now.
But still a Taker vs HHH match is a good thing to have at WM. Im looking foward to it

I don't think I'm on either "side" because I agree with what they've both said about each other. If they fight, it wouldn't make sense to have Cena lose, considering Rocky's just gonna leave the next day(perhaps for good).

This Cena vs Rock thing will likely go down like this...

Cena is fighting The Mix...The Rock storms the ring and has a face off with Cena. The Miz starts yelling at The Rock to hit Cena...The Rock looks at The Miz weird and Miz starts making demands on The Rock...Miz then shoves The Rock...Rock then gives the Rock Bottom to Miz and Cena covers him to become world heavyweight champion.

I meant as in "I'm With Cena". Last time I checked, it was 22 Cena fans (including myself) against Maivia's 170 fans on here.

Face HHH vs Face Taker.

Which would prove that Cena was right about the Rock the entire time...

I enjoyed the HHH/Undertaker stand off. I thought it was really cool how they managed to work the crowd without saying anything.

not interested in anything involving the Miz....very interested in Punk/Orton...I think they can put together a very physical and involving match

no titles, just a feud

Any guesses on MITB?

My first pick would be Morrison, just as payment for being the highlight of every PPV...if he continues that sort of performance, and he is placed high enough on the card, his matches will become a major selling point.

My second pick, depending on how storylines play out...would be Christian winning MITB, Del Rio defeating Edge, and Christian immediately cashing in to win the title...setting up a three way feud for the belt.

Children. We're the reason Hogan was so popular in the 80s too.

The thing is Cena's intial popularity didn't come from a kiddie friendly gimmick, it was aimed at teens. The interesting thing about Hogan is that he blew the business up twice, firstly with his superhero gimmick, then when he turned heel he revolutionized WCW and drew as a completely different character.

The not speaking part wasn't an issue for me, it was the rushed and desperate feel of it that sucked IMO.

And that Rock is right about Cena's gimmick being for toddlers

The difference is that Cena dissed Rock over personal choices Rock made, Rock dissed Cena over choices Vince made.

because those same kids who made him popular initially jumped on board behind him when he turned

Agreed. I like Cena, but it's clear to me his character was initially based on a 66-year old man's stubborn perceptions of what would be cool to young men aged 13-20, and eventually evolved into the "cool big brother" for little girls and boys aged 6-12 through a combination of accident, circumstance and necessity.

then they saw the merch numbers and ran with it

I really don't think people understand how much merch he actually sells...its an obscene amount

Because the kids who followed him grew into angry teenagers who liked to wear black and white T-shirts with sunglasses and join fake gangs. Wrestling tends to follow its key demographic, so it should be interesting to see where it goes as the Cena-generation enters its teens over the next few years.

exactly....it's tough to be a gangsta in Cheyenne, Wyoming

I blame ICP

It was more than that, the heat he had for a year was sustained, there were a large portion that felt betrayed by him and then on top of that you had those that had been sick of his **** for years and revelled in the chance to boo him, and to Hogan's credit he milked it for everything it was worth, his promos were a masterclass in exploring the motivations of his character.

I feel bad for Cena as while he has clearly done well and made a lot of money, the company haven't fully tapped in to what he can offer.
