Yeah that would be about my sympathies on the holiday too Dr Lee.
Hunter, you have an awesome avvy !
Anyone read the actual nikki heat books? Got the first one today though the mail!
That Rick Castle is a sly fox telling Kate he'd never seen forbidden planet classic.

i was asking as the guy who plays Josh was the baddie in the epi last night...
Interesting as we had Senator Kelly as a villian in this weeks episode.

It's also interesting to note another Castle/Alexis sub plot, I wonder if she will get into a case soon.
I thought they'd go down that route with a Cannell memorial reference... nicely done IMHO...
So Micheal Knight Jr killed the swimmer...
Jealous Castle is... intriguing... and sneaky
and what was with the double meanings at the end... and that look? laying the 'ship' on a bit thick there....

I don't think so; at least not directly. Rather, I think the show's driving in the part that Castle is a father and has a family; as aspect that most forensic shows don't really feature. This helps the show be more unique by showing/developing subplots others can't really do. For instance, take a look at how they did the dirty bomb episodes, with Castle getting Martha and Alexis out of town; CSI, Bones, NCIS, etc wouldn't have been able to do that and if they did, it wouldn't have the same impact.
I liked the ending. I don't think one can really complain about "laying the ship on too thick." Castle is built around the Beckett/Castle relationship. Its like complaining that the writers of Cheers focused too much on Sam and Diane.
Killing Alexis kills the show. Nothing's more devastating than a parent losing a child. This would be a death that would irrevocably change Castle from the character he is.
