Firefly's Fillion Moves into Castle

I wish they just married them off in this episode instead of waiting until next season. Now, with Castle missing, I feel that their wedding isn't going to take place as planned. And then, after all the stress and panic with his search etc, they'll just end up getting married in the precinct or in a registry office, or Castle and Beckett will elope with no-one else there. It might be just like Lois & Clark.

That ending reminded me of the type of cliffhanger Dynasty would do back in the 80's. :funny:

It was a light and breezy episode that had an appropriately fun case as the wedding disasters played out back in New York. Then I saw Castle in his car and thought "Uh oh" and immediately thought of 3XK planting a Castle double body in the car, then I saw the blacked out SUV and I thought it was going to be his Dad, then when it backed off I figured it was just a fake-out and we'd get the happy wedding.......

Not sure how I feel about the ending but the chance it may play into a new mythology is intriguing. Is it 3XK? I'm not sold as it felt more heavy handed than his usual mind**** stuff. My guess is it is related to his Dad's work for the CIA but I love the possibility of it being something totally fresh.

I think they could have had their cake and ate it though. Basically cut the case short, have the wedding and then have Castle needing to pop out for something before him and Kate go off on their honeymoon and do the car crash then.

On a side note it's good to see Scottie Thompson getting more work.

Nooooo! This endings makes me want to Hulk out! :cmad: Like Hunter said, they could easily have had their cake and ate it too. I just want them to be married already. :argh:

BTW why is Eddie McClintock always playing the same character?

I don't think it was 3xk, I personally think it's the ex-senator.

I've always seen Eddie as Fillion-like on WH13 and it was fun seeing him and the real deal together.

As for the ending, my first thought was: "Uh-oh, the senator's (or some of the people that benefitted from his largesse) aren't done with them." Being that I associate big dark SUVs to people like him.

But I guess it could be anything at this point.

It's more likely to be related to Castle's father than 3XK and more likely 3XK than the ex-senator's people. He'd have killed Castle and tried for Beckett, not kidnapped him if this were retribution.

Do you think they'll have castle laying on a gurney nearby? He's not been kidnapped, just been run off the road and watched his car get torched...

Would be a cop out, but I think the writers wrote themselves into a corner with that finale, so anything will be a cop out...

If he were laying in a ditch somewhere nearby I'd hope someone had the presence of mind to look. As I recall they had plenty of time to do that since there were already several people on the scene when Beckett got the call.

If he is at the scene, then he will be on a gurney near by getting checked over...

The thing that gets me is that Kate arrived at the scene alone... Suggesting to me that she may not have listened to the call properly, gotten the location and bolted to the car... Which suggests that Castle could be there, just a little dinged up...

Does that make sense?

Did she arrive alone? I thought there was an emergency crew or police. I might be mixing it up with some other season finale cliffhanger though.

I meant in terms of her getting out of the wedding car on her own, no Martha/Alexis/Lanie/anyone...

There were EMTs & whatnot, but she was technically alone...

Ah, they were all probably following behind in their own vehicles... far, far behind because I can only imagine the kind of speeding she did to get to the scene.

I have watched episodes here and there, but never regularly I have decided to use my dvr and TNT reruns to watch the whole series. I am so happy that I did. The show is so much fun, and the third season has actually been really, really good.

The third season is my favourite, what episode are you up to?

Just finished the two-parter Setup/Countdown. The story about the dirty bomb.

There is just something about this season that feels just better. And it isn't like I didn't really like he first two season, I did. But every episode, from the case involving Castle's college friend to the MIB episode, it is just really, really working for me. Nikki Heat, is hilarious. :funny:

The only thing I am really missing from season 3 is Castle and Alexis' relationship.

Very surprised about this, can't help but wonder if this is a reaction to the way the S6 cliffhanger was reacted to by the fans....

Badly, a lot of people were stating they were done with the show, though that talk has lessened a bit, so it was probably mostly just a knee-jerk reaction for a lot of them...

I'm not a fan of what they did, I think they could have given the fandom what it wanted and still pull a sudden 'Wait... WTF?' on us. The fact that Marlowe spoke about a 'new mythology' next season could have been a sign things were changing, or TPTB weren't confident he could do it, so they booted him and got someone into fix his screw up.

Which is a damn shame as (apart from a couple of moments, aka Alexis' hissy fit & crappy resolution this season & the sudden 180 after 'Still' last season), Marlowe & co haven't dne much wrong IMHO

I was disappointed that we didn't get a wedding at the end, but I wasn't so disappointed that I'd suddenly call it quits and give up on the show. Especially when the show was overwhelmingly fantastic most of the time, and a big twist was to be expected.

This new mythology better not be that, in a reversal of the show for the past 6 seasons, the police are now helping Castle on his writing projects.

I suspect this is going to be something to do with Castle's father...maybe even related to the mission he thought was over the night castle was conceived?

Not happy about the change from Marlowe, he's been doing an amazing job.
