Michael B. Jordan with a blonde wig and Fassbender as T'chaka's white adopted son... The mental imagery I'm getting from both comments is hilarious.

If Fox are going to make anyone black in the FF, it should be Reed or Ben, rather than having Sue white and Johnny black.

This sounds much like that Marlon Wayans casting rumour for Robin in Batman Returns back in the early 90s.

Some people just does not understand the problems fans have with this & just want to play the race card. But w/e floats those peoples boats

Personally I don't care if he is black. Look at MCD as the Kingpin. He owned that role and did an excellent job. I have no doubt Fishburne would do a great job as Perry White and Harris was great in Skyfall. I think it doesn't matter what color they are just as long as they can act and do fit the role. Hell my favorite Spider-Man is Mile Morles and he's black and I love the black Superman Morrison wrote. The problem most people seem to forget is that when a lot of these Super Heroes were created it was at a time where it was not popular to have a black lead as a Super Hero so no Batman or Superman or Spider-Man or any them would be black because of that time period but as time changes I wish people would be more open to change as well in that aspect.

:funny:

If he ends up not being cast all of this is gonna be sad and hilarious in hindsight.

So if some guy is

a great actor
the right age range
popular with audiences
has great parental qualities
can be both intelligent and funny
good at portraying leadership abilities
and a decent fashion sense...

... Fox should cast him as Sue?

He just happens to be a man.

Every bit of news that comes out on this sounds horrible.

This news also suggests Fox Is giving a lot of freedom to Josh Tank for the ilm.

Simple solution is that he can be adopted.

It just seems like an unnecessary change just for the sake of making it different than the previous two. MBJ would be good in a comic-book movie... like John Stewart or Black Panther. But Johnny Storm? I don't know.

Keep in mind Fox could be putting feelers out to see how people react to this news and gain free publicity for it. It's possible someone else may get the role instead.

And I was definitely okay with Samuel L. Jackson and Idris Elba playing Nick Fury and Heimdall, because they made the role their own. It fit within the universe Marvel Studios was going for. But making Johnny black with a white sister changes the dynamic of F4 completely. You'd have to make the whole family black or hope that the rest of the actors have great chemistry in order to pull off that change.

Remember when I told you guys about this weeks ago? Maybe you should pay more attention to the other casting "suggestions" I made for Sue and Reed...

What about Michael B. Jordan?

I agree he is a good actor and could pull the role off. I am a comic book fan myself and have no problem with filmmakers interpreting characters in a different way. The Fantastic Four could literally be anyone, their problems were not white people only problems. If this casting rumor is true, Sue and Johnny would be adopted siblings but the dynamic would still be there. Johnny's background and personality didn't have much to do with his race. And I am pretty sure Marvel doesn't have a problem with different interpretations of characters either. My one of my friends who is black has a adopted sister who is white and they have a normal brother/ sister blood sibling relationship, they argue just like every other sibling. But of course the so called comic book "purist" can't see beyond race so they most likely cast a white actor to appease them.

Why couldn't he be adopted?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultimate_Fantastic_Four

Reed Richards is 21 and the origin of the FANTASTIC FOUR is different. Don't be too quick to dismiss ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR as the direction the reboot's taking...

Remember this, from The Hollywood Reporter?

Sources say that the new reboot is taking a grounded superhero and sci-fi approach to the heroes and will tap deep into the comics mythology, which featured not just the better-known villains such as Doctor Doom and Galactus but also alien races the Kree and the Skrull, and the anti-matter universe known as the NEGATIVE ZONE.

Now, read how the ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR got their powers in the comics:

At the age of 21 Reed Richards' research was realized as he and several others attempted to teleport organic material through an alternate plane of existence called the NEGATIVE ZONE.

Trust me.
Right... Guess we'll just have to wait and see :). Like the article said:

Sources say that the new reboot is taking a grounded superhero and sci-fi approach to the heroes.

All I'm saying is, the origin presented in the ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR storyline is very CHRONICLE-like, super sci-fi heavy, and involves all four protagonists inadvertently discovering the N-ZONE while being gifted incredible powers.

There's a lot of discussion on here about the cast being in their late 20s or mid to late 30s. IF it's revealed they're using the ULTIMATES storyline for the reboot, or a derivation thereof, no one should be surprised when a much younger cast is presented. That's my main point.

Just saying, keep an open mind.
WE HAVE A PROPHET

Also this explains that white kid who looked 16 ot was reported they were talking to.

Not really Reed, Ben, and Sue could still be white. People are acting like the difference between white people and black people is so different. We are all human beings that face similar problems. The chemistry would very well work just fine with the right actors.

Unless men are dramatically different from women biologically, unless we are expected to view and treat men and women differently in social situations, unless there are things a woman can do that a man can't, then yes, that should be completely acceptable. :BA

Edit: What's really gonna drive people crazy is when they start drawing Johnny with a heavy tan in 616. :p

king pin turned black...perry white is played by a black actor...i also saw a black spiderman in comicbooks....but why not making power man or introducing black panther instead of mixing things up...or even better invent new superheroes..like they did with hancock...

They're not making an MCU movie, or a new superhero. They're making a Fantastic Four movie. They aren't legally allowed to put Black Panther in there, and it would be really dumb tokenism to make in the Fantastic Five so they could have a new black character.

Just heard about the casting possibility. And seriously my only response right now is:
