Food weaknesses

All of the above (except Vector) and possibly whatever else is mentioned.

Yeah I did the juicing fast and lost 43 pounds in 30 days.

But man was it tough. I was sick from detoxing a couple weeks, the cravings were non-stop anytime food was around. I even had steady dreams about eating.

It has been 7 months since then and I've gone from juicing, to vegetarian, to part-time vegetarian and as you can guess I've gained some weight back (10 pounds).

So I plan to juice fast once a year to shed, on average, 20 pounds a year. Doing that and remaining a part-time vegetarian is my health conscious compromise and it's not too bad. I even enjoy a burger and fries every now and then.

Dude. Much respect. No joke. I think all people should take control of their diets. Food is extremely important. The more you understand it, the less control it has over you.

As far as fasting goes, I've always been the paper-thin guy. Trying to gain weight more often than not. But last week I tried a salt-water flush. By removing unwanted garbage from the digestive tract, its supposed to help with any lingering cravings during diet change. It was really intense though. :/

Basically 1 liter of water and ~1 tablespoon of high quality sea salt (don't use table salt). You drink it all within 5 minutes, and don't eat for a couple hours. Your body should recognize it as something you aren't supposed to retain and it goes right through you. It worked all too well for me. :P

I won't be doing it again though. Not too pleasant going in or coming out.

That sounds awful. I'd like to go on a cleanse though.

I would say bacon, but I'm researching changing my diet, and it looks like bacon may be a better choice for me than cereal and oatmeal, so it wouldn't count. I know that cookies and ice cream are bad for me, and I just can't give them up if I tried.

Fried sweet plantains.

I thought bacon could lead to heart disease. It's one of the things I've seriously considered dropping from my eating habits. Painful as that may be.

Well the documentary I was watching was called Fat Head, and it was talking about how heart disease isn't caused by what we've been told all these years. It broke down that our arteries get inflamed by eating too much of the wrong type of food which is a lot of grains, and that eating more protein in addition to cutting carbs helps a lot. He basically tore Super Size Me a new one, and examined the Lipid Hypothesis that has been passed on for decades now through certain groups pushing agendas through the government.

I do want to research it though because I've eaten a lot of carbs willingly because I felt that was the best type of food for me, and I don't want to drastically change my food ideals just because of one movie. If the low carb diet adds up then I'll eat more bacon and eggs for breakfast rather than cereal and oatmeal. We'll see how it goes.

I had an ice cream pint for dinner though. lol Just wasn't hungry and ate that just because.

I'd have to do more research to comment on that , but I hear so many conflicting ideas it's hard to keep up. I guess it depends on how you balance your meals. I do believe to much of one thing could be very bad for a person. Turkey bacon seems like a good alternative to use.

I thought about eating just cereal tonight because I went to chili's for lunch and feel bloated. A pint of ice cream sounds good though.

Does it have to be a food? Well, my weakness would be Pepsi. Love the stuff. As for food, fried chicken and pumpkin pie. Also love Talenti Gelato Sea Salt and Caramel. That stuff is so freaking good!

I haven't had pizza since I started working out and getting healthy and every now and then I think about ordering one but I always feel like I'll mess everything up if I do especially if I'm eating it by myself.

But I have to admit that ever since I tried chicken shawarma two weeks ago I've been craving that.

I won't go so far as to say that theory is wrong. I'll definitely be checking out Fat Head to see the info for myself. But I doubt what they said was that Bacon is better than oatmeal. Maybe in regards to heart disease (though I'm having a hard time believing that too). But that's not the only thing to worry about in regards to your body's health. The fat, acidity and cholesterol in red meats do absolutely nothing positive for you. Its second hand fuel for your body compared to carbs (fat burns sluggish and unclean). And even the protein found in meat is harder for your body to utilize when compared to vegetable proteins.

If you want a healthy breakfast, I'd stick with the oats, bran or muesli, egg (whites only if you're feeling rambunctious) and as much fresh fruit and nuts as you can stomach. Yogurt is good too.
