His physical appearance is not impressive enough.
Im not speaking of his acting ability, he certainly exuded enough confidence but it was not satisfactory to make me believe the whole package.
Honestly, if youre going to cast someone as Kal el you have to find someone with both acting skill and appearance.

Interesting enough, Cain had more muscle mass then Routh. Not to mention his clark kent had an actual human personality and cool charm about him.

Cain's Superman was bad, but his Clark had cool charm. Routh simply does not have the charm or presence - either as Superman or as Clark.

Has anyone noticed that all the supermen have had higher pitched voices. It's a little thought I had. Isn't Superman supposed to have a deep yet calm and loving tone in his vocals. I just thought i'd point this out.
