The Dark Knight Rises Freeman: 'Nolan to return to Batman'

Morgan Freeman has said that he believes Christopher Nolan will return to the Batman film franchise to helm the follow-up to The Dark Knight.
Nolan is currently working on action thriller Inception, which is slated for release next summer. It is unclear whether the director will revisit the Batman series when his current project wraps up, but Freeman is confident of his return.
"I know - I just know - that Chris is working on number three," he told MTV. "He couldn't possibly not be."
The actor went on to say that his character Lucius Fox and Michael Caine's Alfred are likely to appear in any future Batman films.
"What I don't know is how that story is going to play out - where it's going to be and who's going to be in it," he explained. "There's a good chance he would incorporate Lucius Fox and Alfred."
He also revealed that Catwoman is his first choice as the film's antagonist. "I want to see Catwoman," he added. "I have [a casting] idea, but it's just an idea and I'm going to keep it to myself."
Freeman's latest movie Invictus arrives in UK cinemas in February 2010.

No matter what they've said to correct themselves; Freeman, Oldman, and Caine have mentioned something about Nolan doing another Batman film. No one is saying it's not happening, just confused about when it will be and who will be in it. All will be known very soon.

well I wouldn't want to go THAT far cyclone haha, but I've always seen the Riddler as the next logical choice for the villain. catwoman, however would make for a great "antagonistic love interest"..I had this idea of Bruce and Selina being highschool sweethearts, prom king & queen, but Selina moved to New York to pursue a modeling career. then suddenly she reappears in Gotham out of the blue as a wealthy socialite and she and Bruce reunite somewhat..at the same time there's this new catburglar swiping precious artifacts from Gotham businesspeople who've made dirty deals with the mob or whoever, and Batman's trying to stop her..they're both aiming for the same thing, except Cateoman's taking a different route..just my thoughts.

Batman Begins - Ras Al Ghul plans to use fear toxin to raze Gotham City.
The Dark Knight - Joker tries to manipulate people into committing horrible acts of violence.

Catwoman is a simple burglar. She just doesn't have the clout of a real nemesis. Sure, she could be a protagonist, but do you really want dialogue scenes where Batman and Catwoman are "teaming up"? She'd just bring the whole thing down, one way or another. And as he's demonstrated, Nolan isn't big on movie romance.

Batman Begins and The Dark Knight have both felt like there's too many male characters. Having a third movie without any female character in the main cast would be sad. Plus Catwoman is by far the best character Nolan haven't used yet in his movies. Im kinda weak(no pun intended) for these strong female characters that can kick most guys' butts in action films.

hmm, if Freeman wants Catwoman, maybe Nolan might add her

I think by "antagonist" maybe Freeman means, love wise...its clear Rachel was the love protaganist, so maybe Catwoman could stir up dark emotions in Batman that may make him loose sense, maybe crossing that line of right/wrong to the extreme in Catwoman's favor

I don't think she's a must, if she isn't apart of the story Nolan wants to tell then she shouldn't be shoe-horned in. But I would still be disappointed if she wasn't included.
