Friday The 13th Video Game

They're going with all the designs actually and some new ones never before seen. You'll be able to unlock various versions of Jason, complete with weapons specific to that particular version.

Awesome because I love all his looks. I of course have ones that are favorites over others, but I do love each look.

Where did you get that info?

Games looks rad. I really hope they reach their single player stretch goal, just so there is something to do when the servers go dead a few years from now

This is a very cool idea and I already pledged (more looking on my $30 as a pre-order than anything). Something that's a bit funny about cultural zeitgeist is how the owners of the rights were looking at making a very similar game at the same time by coincidence, but they rolled the two projects together when those guys found out the people making Summer Camp were recruiting people who had worked on the Friday the 13th films. I'm really pleased that Tom Savini is involved since he can make the kills inventive and hopefully give a bit of a practical effects feel to them.

I'm really curious about the role of Tommy Jarvis as a sort of guide. I hope that if they make some of these single player scenarios he might be your protagonist in some of them.

I hope the introduction is like the one from Part 2 that they reused in Part 4 (might have been used in Part 3 as well, I can't remember), with the gathering by the campfire and the retelling of the story. It's such an iconic moment that it should be reused, or at least acknowledged.

What would also be interesting would be different types of scenarios for online play. The vanilla format they've been talking about is it starting from when people realize that Jason is out there and then it's survive or escape, but I think there could be other possibilities as well. Like maybe one where the people have some tasks to do around the camp, and the killer is actually Pamela Voorhees. She can infiltrate and even blend in, but looses her real advantages once the alert goes off.
Some of the tropes from the early films would be good to integrate into it as well, I've seen some mentions of a fear system and maybe if Jason places corpses like trophies in strategic positions it will help shake people up and thus weaken them.

It seems Kickstarter has become a real boon to 80's nostalgia projects.

This game definitely seems to have nailed the franchises feel, shame that Jason can only walk though. Looks a lot better than I expected.

Jason only ran in 2,3 and the remake. Maybe you get to sprint a bit when you unlock those Jasons

Jason ran in part 4 as well. It looks like they chose his look from part 3 and 4. The big cabin in that footage even looks like the one from part 3, Higgins Haven. Bet the barn is around there somewhere, too.

Yeah, I just kinda prefer when he runs, sets him apart from Michael, I did find the teleport feature hilarious though, and strangely fitting.

I wonder if they're gonna have the Roy "Jason" as an appearance.

I was right it is Higgins Haven from part 3:

That's really cool. I hope they put in some other famous locations from the franchise. Like that old shack from part 2 where he kept his mother's severed head on a table surrounded by candles.

What..

This looks like it could amuse me for hours. :D

Saw this gameplay earlier today, love it. Looks fun.
