This is a very cool idea and I already pledged (more looking on my $30 as a pre-order than anything). Something that's a bit funny about cultural zeitgeist is how the owners of the rights were looking at making a very similar game at the same time by coincidence, but they rolled the two projects together when those guys found out the people making Summer Camp were recruiting people who had worked on the Friday the 13th films. I'm really pleased that Tom Savini is involved since he can make the kills inventive and hopefully give a bit of a practical effects feel to them.
I'm really curious about the role of Tommy Jarvis as a sort of guide. I hope that if they make some of these single player scenarios he might be your protagonist in some of them.
I hope the introduction is like the one from Part 2 that they reused in Part 4 (might have been used in Part 3 as well, I can't remember), with the gathering by the campfire and the retelling of the story. It's such an iconic moment that it should be reused, or at least acknowledged.
What would also be interesting would be different types of scenarios for online play. The vanilla format they've been talking about is it starting from when people realize that Jason is out there and then it's survive or escape, but I think there could be other possibilities as well. Like maybe one where the people have some tasks to do around the camp, and the killer is actually Pamela Voorhees. She can infiltrate and even blend in, but looses her real advantages once the alert goes off.
Some of the tropes from the early films would be good to integrate into it as well, I've seen some mentions of a fear system and maybe if Jason places corpses like trophies in strategic positions it will help shake people up and thus weaken them.
It seems Kickstarter has become a real boon to 80's nostalgia projects.
