From THE CHAMPIONS to THE ORDER

I bet Barry Kitson is just confused by the whole thing. He's probably sitting at his drawing table thinking, "I'm Barry ****ing Kitson. How did people not buy this book?" :(

I gets to me that crap like Bendis's Avengers books and the Ultimates line sell and something truely awesome like The Order is canned after 10 issues.

Yeah, it gets all of us. Well, all of us with good taste and a working brain cell, that is.

Thanks.

Fraction: "The writing was on the wall... but Marvel was very gracious letting us get off the stage the way we wanted to...it was a great opportunity working with Barry (Kitson), and I can't wait to work with him again."

Yeah, at the very least, THE ORDER will outlive THE THING.

Still, I am glad he says, "letting us get off the stage the way we wanted to", which likely means no shameless crossover tie-in's to try to mangle his story. Tell it like you want, fellas. Go out in style.

At least he confirms he is writing YOUNG AVENGERS PRESENTS #6 with Kate Bishop/Hawkeye. That should be good.

It probably has been too long since JLA YEAR ONE that the average fan doesn't get jazzed by his name. Especially since that story has been retconned, or not, or so, or whatever, by DC.

It is a damn shame. Considering this was a new franchise, perhaps Marvel should have promoted it more than going, "Hey, another Initiative book, you buy now!"

I probably shouldn't say anything. I buy NA every month and hate it every month. Granted, my shop overorders it, so my single issue every month really doesn't matter, there are always 6-10 copies of NA issues left on the stands for weeks anyway.

But, I did support THE ORDER since #1 and will do so until the end. Heck, I even made this topic for it. :p Sad it has to end so soon.

Yeah, it really is a shame. Kitson's a legend. I ****ing hate fanboys. :(

I do as well at times like this.

THE ORDER #10 is solicted for April. Everyone looks angry on the cover. I don't blame them. :cmad:

I don't even think there's a chance for the book to come back with a new #1 either. It truely was Marvel's best team book.

Indeed.

Yeah, I'm not optimistic about a revival happening either. It is possible, but unfortunately not likely, not unless the trades sell ridiculously well.

It really is a shame, and a bad lesson to creators who want to do creative, innovative, and fundamentally solid work at Marvel. They learn that stuff doesn't sell, so they write a LOGAN mini or something.

Which I will definitely be reading. That doesn't make me filthy, does it? It's BKV and Risso. :(

No, I won't blame you. I might give it a go if it gets good rep.

Still, one gets the feeling BKV was sitting in his office, going, "I'd like to write SOMETHING that isn't LOST or Ultimate that sells within the Top 60" and naturally found Wolverine and picked the one plot thread that seems to have worked for nearly every mini or one-shot Logan has done within the past 15 years.

Yeah. We couldn't have had a short stint on Runaways, or something?
