The Zords are no different than Transformers.
The Zords are no different than Transformers.
Well if you noticed, Angel Grove is boxed off from the rest of the world in my backstory. If the Zords are an issue, I figure once Rita and Zedd go down in my story arc, there won't be a need for them, as no one's going to make giant monsters anymore either![]()
Your honor, may I present Trypticon, Metroplex, Omega Supreme, Sky-lynx and possibly all the combiners like Bruticus and Devestator as exhibit A. They're all enormous, on Zord level size.Other than the fact that they're 10x the size. Sure.
Since I was chopped...
From The Pages Of... RPG APPLICATION
Screen Name: Byrd Man
Character you'd like to portray: Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith
Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest: No powers, but Hannibal is a master tactician. A former member of the Army, Hannibal is also an excellent shot with most manners of weapons.
Originally appearing from (which comic, and company?): The A-Team was a limited series that appeared in Marvel Comics, as well as The A-Team had a daily strip in the UK comic Look-In
Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it):
Born in 1960, John Smith had a rowdy childhood and faced a jail sentence of 10 years for Grand Theft Auto when he was 18. The judge gave Smith a simple choice, either go to jail or join the army.
After enlisting and going through bootcamp, Smith rose quickly through the Army's ranks and his once rowdy behavior was channelled into an effective soldier and commanding officer. His tendency for sucessful battle tactics earned him the nickname Hannibal, after the famous leader.
In the late 90's, Smith joined the Army's Special Forces. His four-man commando team was made up of Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck, Captain H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock, and Sgt. B.A. Baracus. Smith was commissioned as a Colonel when the US invaded Iraq during the start of Operation: Iraqi Freedom
During the invasion, the commando's commanding officer, General Morrison, gave the team a job that would cripple the Iraqi government. Their mission was to rob the Bank of Baghdad, the government's main supply of gold and cash.
Their robbery was a sucessful one, with the four-man group stealing roughly a billion dollars in cash, valuables, and gold.
After the extraction, Hannibal was shocked to learn that Morrison denied any knowledge of the robbery, and claimed the men had acted on their own accord. Hannibal and his men where charged with the crime and had to stand trial before a military trial board. While awaiting trial in Fort Bragg, the group escaped the base and fled into the night.
Hero, Villain, or Walking the line?: Hero
List a few reasons why you chose this character: I love the A-Team and their adventures. I love the show and the movie this summer was a blast.
Write two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG: I can bring a decent RPer with experience RPGs. Plus, I'm a fan of the A-Team and can bring some new stories to the RPG.
How many days a week you intend on posting in the RPG: Much as I feel like!
Please provide a small sample post as your character, at least three paragraphs and one line of dialogue in length:
Baghdad
April, 2003
Here I am, deep behind enemy lines and on a Black Op so secret, only six other people know about it besides me. If we're caught, me and my team are up **** creek without a paddle.
Honestly, there's nowhere else I'd rather be.
It's 3 am here in Iraq's capital. The air-raid spotlights are off and the guards are almost asleep as I stand in the shadows across the street from the Bank of Baghdad. Inside its vault is the money that's the desert nation's life blood.
"Hannibal here. Give me a sit-rep," I say into the small mic on my wrist.
"Face to Hannibal, B.A. and I are in position."
"Murdock standing by on the outskirts of town. The bird is fueled and ready to fly."
I casually walk across the street to the bank's front door. Bending down, I slap a small device on the oak doors.
"Hannibal to team. Charge one is in position."
"B.A. to Hannibal. Charge is ready to go on the roof."
"Face, alarms?"
"Plugged in and ready to disable on your mark, Colonel."
I back up across the street with a small detonator in my hand.
"Okay. On my mark we all move...3.....2.......1....MARK!"
The front door explodes and tears open just as B.A. blows up the bank's skylight. From the fusebox outside the bank, Face disables the silent alarm that notifies the authorites that Uncle Sam's finest has their eyes set on Sadam's coin purse.
I sprint through the hole that the door left and slde to a stop as B.A. swings down from the skylight.
"Murdock, sit-rep!"
"Chopper is spinning, ready for pick-up on your mark."
B.A. and I leap over the counters and run down stairs into the bank's vault.
"Get the explosives ready," I say as I sling my backpack off.
"With all due respect, I ain't got no time for your jibba-jabba," he says as he places explosives over the vault.
"Sorry I'm late," Face says as he comes to a stop beside us and slings off his pack.
"B.A. charges are ready?"
"Yes, sir."
I look at my watch and then at the explosives.
"We've got ten seconds before this son of a ***** blows."
The three of us run back up the stairs as we cover our ears.
BLAM!
The explosion shakes the bank's foundation. If the silent alarm didn't alert the cops, this sure will.
"Murdock, get the bird in the air and meet us on the roof."
The three of us run back down the stairs and step over the debris.
The inside of the vault is stuffed with cash, jewels, and gold. So much, that I don't think we can carry it all.
By the time we've got it all loaded up into the bags, I can hear sirens coming and the sound of a chopper.
"Move out."
The three of us run up the steps. I have about six bags strapped on me,
Face has eight. B.A. is the work horse with close to a dozen on his body.
I can hear Murdock's chopper thumping on the roof as we reach the broken out skylight.
"Face, you go first. B.A. you next, I'll bring up the rear."
"You go first, Colonel," Face says as he grabs the rope.
"That's an order, Lieutenant. Get your ass up that rope now."
He starts up, followed by B.A. I'm halfway up when I hear the screech of tires. Cops and soldiers come running into the bank with weapons.
Well, I Guess I had a good run.
"Hold on, Colonel!" Murdock screams as I feel the rope jerk and pull me out of the skylight.
The chopper hovers a hundred feet above the bank with me dangling below. It takes B.A. about four tugs before I'm safely inside the chopper.
"Sorry about that, Colonel." Murdock says as he tilts the helicopter forward and speeds away from the bank."I know we had orders, but even the best soldiers know when to disobey orders."
I sit down in the co-pilot's chair and smile as I pull out a cigar and light it.
"I love it when a plan comes together."
