Well DC could kill them and replace them with more ethnically diverse villains. It's what they've been doing with the heroes,

A villain is still a villain no matter how you spin it. if he kills joker he might as well kill the rest of his line up to keep them from hurting/killing other people. was'nt that the point you made?(or are you trying to back out of that corner? )and yes you are grasping at straws, trying to blame jokers long existence as a way for batman to feel more superior plus he'll be looked down upon in the entire hero community, when we all know in reality the books sales would drop.

I'm not blaming Joker's long existance for Batman's superiority.

I'm blaming Batman's lack of concern with the people the Joker inevitably murders and maims for his superiority. He can wax poetic about his guilt in the aftermath, but he rarely takes pre-emptive steps to prevent it. One step would be killing the Joker.

Most of Batman's line-up does kill people in the quantity the Joker usually does.

Hell, several aren't even of that variety, and are thieves or money-grubbers. They shouldn't be killed.

Let his book sales drop, I don't read it in the first place.

Very few other superheroes deal with criminals like the Joker. Tehy have villians taht are after power/money/other such material sins. No one is on par with the Joker, IMO, for a murder/death/kill ratio. No one.

I think that if Batman killed the Joker, some woudl find it a relief since they'd never have to deal with the SAME REPEATING PLOTLINE AGAIN.

"Joker breaks free, takes hostages/makes plans to kill people/children/Batman".

The same plots repeated for decades. Not only is that unimaginative, it grows tedious.

That's because they rarely ever happen anymore. The Joker's become an enigmatic shadow among Batman's rogues. He pops up once in a blue moon to harass someone, but the last major arc that centered on him was "Soft Targets" from Gotham Central, or arguably Winick's last pre-OYL Red Hood arc. The reason is specifically because he's so overused. They're giving him a few years' rest until someone can come up with a way to bring him back to the fore in a really impressive way, probably right around the time The Dark Knight is about to premiere in theaters.
