She's statuesque already, and I don't know why you associate female empowerment with biceps.

You say ugly, I say strong, empowered, statuesque figure who can intimidate those opposing the pillars of peace.

I'd like to see some people here go up to somebody like Jessica Biel and call her ugly.

With a camera filming it. Then send it to America's funniest home videos and win the grand prize.

remember.
Everybody calls this a transformation, but it was just recomposition/bulk. He had already built up a large amount of muscle prior to his role in the Machinist. Yes he lost his size and muscularity but the muscle fibers and pathways had already been created; they don't just deteriorate and disappear. Within two months or less, you would be amazed how much if not all of his 'American Psycho' physique he had reattained. Now add on a near perfect diet and training time/routine and he managed to add a good 4 to 6lbs of lean mass with some additional bulk weight.

I still greatly admire his dedication to his roles but for people to say he went from a stick to BB shape is not true, he simply regained what he previously had through muscle memory and then through hard work added some lean body mass. We will not see Gal gain twenty pounds for the role but she will indeed look the part after she is finished training for the role. :cwink:

I would rather this stunningly beautiful and very feminine woman does not take steps to uglify herself.

That's what happened to fashion model Sharon Brunneau. She was a regular model to start with. Then one day she got pneumonia and lost a lot of weight while sick. She then got into bodybuilding to put the weigh back on and maybe overdid it. So she found that she was now too big to go back to work as a fashion model and couldn't find anyone who would take her.

Then she was faced with a choice. Try to keep being a fashion model or become a bodybuilder. She chose the latter, and "beefed" herself up. She became very muscular, competing in various competitions.

Then apparently one day she woke up, saw herself in the mirror and didn't recognise herself anymore. She thought that she had lost most of her femininity and was looking far too hard and muscular. So she made another decision to quit weigh lifting and lose the muscle. I'm guessing this must have been years later after she had been competing, because how did she not look in the mirror before and see a very ripped, muscular woman - the type that some want as an Amazon for Wonder Woman?

Her face didn't look all that feminine anymore when she was muscle bound. I don't actually know what it was like when she was a fashion model, but as a bodybuilder she didn't look so feminine in her facial features always.

So I don't want something like that to happen to Gal Gadot, because she is breathtakingly beautiful. It would be nice if she packs on some weight, but nothing like Brunneau.

Would you call her "beefy"? Because that's what we're talking about.

Yeah. I find the fact that some people want her to ruin what nature has given her to be a bit disturbing.

Don't worry, unless she decides to start dabbling in anabolics it's impossible for her or any woman to lose their femininity.

Beefy meaning muscular?

Like she was in that Blade movie?

Because that was sure as hell not ugly. Furthest thing from it actually.

"Beefy", applied to a woman, is descriptive of something a bit more than that.

I don't think most women would be flattered by being described as bovine in any sense.

In any case I think that Gal, as she is, is indeed further from ugly than that.

What everyone seems to think will happen if she tries to gain size by eating and lifting and what will actually happen. She was a former model and military trainer, she will not let herself get too "beefy".

So the one on the left didn't lift weights?

Yeah I don't think anyone's asking for lady on the left.

If they are they should probably go back on the meds.

Lady on the right is feasible, but probably still a bit much for this actress. Also lady on the right isn't ugly, but I digress.

Based on the pics I've seen of her, Gal is perfect for Wonder Woman as-is, no weight-training, dieting, etc. required.

Eh, it's Snyder and if Suckerpunch showed anything it was some girls kicking ass and still being very feminine without being butch.
I actually have more faith in him with Wonder Woman than I would many other directors.

I'm like 95% sure Mark Twight and Gym Jones are going to be involved with getting her to a proper fighting weight. I can't wait till we see Gadot all bulked and toned and have all the naysayers put in their place. God I can't wait.

I still find the second pick to be too harsh honestly. Megan Fox has the perfect Abs for WW IMO they are toned but not overboard skinny or bulky.

Jessica Biel has the best arms, legs and ass.

Sidenote: Is that a penis I'm seeing?

Something similar to the right is what I expect and is certainly feasible in a two month + window. We also don't know her shooting schedule begins at the beginning of filming. But given her history with training, she probably won't find it hard to build muscle given her muscle memory from being a trainer, much like somebody brought up about bale.

"Bulked"? You enjoy that. It's a strange world we live in.

Just to burn this vast field of straw men that is no doubt being constructed, let me say that a small shift in Gal's weight is clearly not going to render her ugly. It would, however, be unnecessary in my opinion, nor would I personally want her to feel pressured into altering the way she looks.

I just want her toned. So I'm not worried in the slightest.

No, but one poster is asking for WW to look like Cory Everson in Hercules The Legendary Journeys:

Now admittedly, Cory had toned down, but when she was competing in Miss Olympia, she was more similar to the woman on the left in that previous picture.

But even as she was in Hercules, I think that's too big for Wonder Woman. I don't want Gal Gadot getting like that.

If she's like that fitness model above, then that's fine. Maybe still a little too ripped personally. But she should not be like Atalanta in Hercules.

I haven't read any of this thread, but all i know is that someone doesn't know what 'Amazon' means and decided to cast without that knowledge. There's time to 'beef' up, sure, but ugh, not gonna happen. Bad bad bad.

Jessica Biel in Blade or in general would be ideal.
