I get that point as no other Superman has been as ripped as Henry has. The point I was trying to make is that perhaps they way they will portray her she doesn't need to get as big as some people think she should.

That may be true, but I still say that if WW doesn't look strong - again, she doesn't have to be muscled up - fans of WW are gonna be very disappointed. It's hard to believe a character is a powerful amazon when it looks like a strong wind could blow them over. On the other hand, I don't want to be one of "those people" that continually bash Gal over her body image, so I'll drop it. Sorry, Gal

You're right, I missed read your post, you assumed if Jaimie Alexander were cast as WW the other Amazons would stand out more. That's even more nonsensical.

I've always said she's attractive, but she isn't WW attractive. She's more of a 7 while Gadot is a 10. You can't have Amazons standing behind her clearly looking better.

which brings me back to: If they are going to cover her up because she is too skinny...why have her work out?
Why cast her? Snyder is a work out freak. He'd have to know what could and could not be done with her.

I do agree with you. She doesn't need to be big to be WW, just really toned. I think they'll have her ready by the time she needs to do her on-screen stuff.

It's a foregone conclusion now that she's not going to have the frame a lot of people want. No-one wants She-Hulk, they want a girl who looks like she won't break in two. That may change, that may not to any great degree, it may all be pre-planned that her role is so minor it doesn't require massive body change, for all we know they might CG her body in shots to look better. Here's the thing, toning is about reducing fat and becoming lean, she needs to gain weight, and a lot of it.

That actually wasn't the point. It has nothing to do with other Amazons, didn't think you'd take it that literal. Honestly.

The point was that WW is described as being the most beautiful, and while Alexander is good looking herself, she is simply not on that level.

Re: Eye Colour/Contacts

At first, I was against blue eye contacts for Gal Gadot based on how terrible they have looked when other actors have used them (e.g. Jessica Alba in Fantastic Four). But, after seeing some photo manips of Gal Gadot as "Wonder Woman" with blue eyes, the change in eye colour does make her even more visually striking than she already is.

As such, I would be open to seeing Gal Gadot wearing blue contacts for "Wonder Woman", provided that they're somewhat "natural" looking. I don't mind if the overall impression of Wonder Woman is "exotic/unusual" beauty, just as long as she doesn't look evidently "fake".

Re: Gal Gadot vs. Jaimie Alexander

My personal preference in terms of purely physical features would be Jaimie Alexander, but I think I just prefer that stronger cheek bone/jaw line structure as opposed to Gal Gadot's softer facial features. I think they're both clearly beautiful women and it's a moot point since Gal Gadot has already been cast.

The only hope for a recast of the role of Wonder Woman is if Gal Gadot is injured or if her performance in MOS2 is terrible. And I don't really want to wish for either of those things to happen.

As others have noted, all of the rumoured short-listed actors for the role of Wonder Woman shared a very similar "slim" build. Perhaps DC/WB are deliberately creating a Wonder Woman who appears physically "weak", but who is surprisingly, super-humanly strong thanks to her Olympian/Godly/Kryptonian heritage.

Or perhaps they simply believe that the slim build will be replaced with a stronger build through the appropriate training or covered/hidden by the costume/s for Wonder Woman.

Only they know what they want with this WW. If they want her toned up or bulked up...they believe they can achieve the WW look that they are going for before her time in front of the camera.

There's taste and everything, but this is more about how the world views beauty(standards) and how WW is portrayed in the comics.

I liken Alexander to that best friend in those movies where the guy wants to hook up with the school beauty, the most popular girl, but at the end of the movie realizes he wants to be with the best friend instead, the one that's in all the schools plays and dresses like she's not in touch with what's "in". Jaimie Alexander is that girl.

I agree. A lot of it will come down to Gal Gadot's costuming as Wonder Woman.

However, even if Wonder Woman's "battle attire" provides complete coverage from neck to toe, I have to wonder whether her other costumes will also provide complete coverage.

It's hard to guess how many costumes Gal Gadot will wear without any details of her role in MOS2, but I would expect that she wouldn't be in her battle attire in every scene. If there is a scene with Princess Diana in formal wear at a function or even in casual wear, then it would be preferable if she was still physically imposing/intimidating in terms of her physique/stature.

Although, even leaving aside her costuming, they can obviously make Princess Diana appear physically imposing by ensuring that she's always the tallest or one of the tallest people in the scene and using other tricks. It has worked for Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Junior and other short actors for most of their careers!

Jaimie Alexander's looks are above average though; whereas, girls cast in the type of "best friend" roles you make mention of are generally not on par with the actress in that regard.

I can see what Masone is saying, but I dont agree with it really. I know WW suppose to be beautiful, and most beautiful of her people, but i think realistically the acting ability of the actress is just as important. There arent many, if any, super models who have the acting chops to pull off WW.
