World Gambit

It's been a really long time, kids, but it went something like this.... ahem..

Gambit was taken by bounty hunters to be taken on trial for the Massacre. Not a legal trial, but one held by Eric the Red who turns out to be Magneto in disguise. This all took place in Antarctica. Before the trial, when Gambit is with the bounty hunters Rogue is there. I think they were taken captive at the same time and inhibited. Gambit knows he's being taken to trial but doesn't fight it becuase he's tired of feeling so guilty and he thinks he deserves this. He knows Rogue is in no danger so he doesn't fight for her, she's kinda along for the ride. On the night before the trial, while the bounty hunters are sleepy like, Rogue and Remy slip into the darkest part of the cell for some private time. Yeah, Remy could free her, maybe, but he wants the trial to happen. Even if they got free he wouldn't leave and so Rogue won't leave him behind... until the trial that is. When she finally learns the real deal, she gets all mad about it and feels betrayed because he never told her about it. She touches him so she knows it's all true. Magneto gets beaten up or gets away or some such crap, the trial is a farce, but Gambit gets left behind by Rogue on purpose anyway. Some say she left Gambit behind because in his memories that Rogue absorbed, he felt he deserved it, so she acted on that and left him. I don't know if I buy all that, but the fact is she left him to freeze but he somehow made it back okay.

If you want more details you'll force me to dig out my old back issues of X-men and right now I just don't have the time...

Gambit should change his look if rogue dumps him, to show a new era in his life.

That little story I told you is quite old. If you're reading the comics now you would know that it doesn't look like Rogue will be dumping Gambit anytime soon. Gambit has come back from his Exile in Antarctica and been reinstated on the team. In spite of ongoing tensions between the two, they are still hanging on. Almost every forward looking book I've read, alternate futures and the like, always have them paired together so I think it will last.

I know I was talking about the whole foxx/msytigue storyline.

Okay, I wasn't sure by your statement if you were a current reader. They actually just redesigned Gambit's outfit when his last book started and I rather like it. I somehow doubt anyone who was trying to be stealthy would wear magenta and all that, though I did like the all black Extreme outfit, too.

i never really liked his old outfit it looked sorta stupid with the "magenta" or should I say pink and blue just never mixed.

Gambit #11, from the series before this latest one that just got cancelled.

That series as whole was quite good. It's worth picking up and the issues wouldn't cost ya much money if you shop around. I got most of mine (there are 24 issues) for less than a buck each.

Cool pic of Gambit and daredevil who is that guy that is really small at the bottom.

He's had two minis with four peices each, the run I just mentioned with 24, and the one from this year they just dropped that had only 12 issues. I don't get why he can't sustain his own book. The 24 run was really good, it got cancelled when Marvel said they had too many X-books out at once and wanted to trim down the line. Of course they brought out a whole bunch of new crappy books after that so whatever... but the 24 run was a little better than the most recent 12 issue run, but I liked them both. Of course, I am somewhat biased. :D

that was a good series . I actually have the one with Blade and Gambit.

Yes, those are covers from the newest Gambit series. Greg Land did the covers, and the inside penciler was Georges Jeanty. I believe Jeanty had done some of the art in Weapon X.

This is what the movie version of Gambit should look like. Perhaps darken the pink to a dark dark purple. The hair/headdress/trenchcoat and mood is bang on what I wanna see. :)

I am quite happy with his current attire. I actually liked the all black Extreme outfit as well.

yeah that was cool he should have stuck with most of it.
