At this point I can't imagine how they couldn't be true. It is the content that depresses me.

In what way? Do you not like the direction the story is going? Or are you depressed because some of the events this season are sad?

Seeing this stuff executed on screen is going to be amazing for me. Quite a different experience from reading it without the intricate detail or context behind it.

There was one about everyone meeting to discuss the White Walkers and it seemed a little suspect that Cersei would agree to meet with Tyrion,
Dany, Jon and the others. I could be wrong, but it just felt out of character.
There was a bit in the spoilers about Cersei and Tyrion having a private chat and I doubt Cersei is chatting with the guy she thinks killed her son and definitely killed her father.

As far as I know there is a parlay this season. Involving Jon, Dany, Cersei, the Hound, Dondarrion, Tyrion etc. I seem to remember set photos confirming it but I could be misremembering. Apparently the meeting happens in the Dragon Pit. Its part of the reason Jon takes his group north of the Wall to capture a Wight or a White Walker. The southron lords wont believe whats happening until they have proof.

Keep in mind that Dany lays waste to the Lannister army and captures Casterly Rock (the Lannister home) this season. Cersei is in no position to refuse a meeting with Dany. And I dont think Cersei knows Tyrion is with Dany. Her reaction should be satisfying when she realizes Tyrion is now Dany's Hand and under the protection of Dany and three dragons.

On a serious note, would any of yall like to see giant ice spiders in the Night's King's army when he attacks with his full force? I know they are only legend in the books, but that seems like the sort of crazy **** to pull out for the final season. Or is it just too visually absurd to have giant spiders attacking?

I'm not sure if they would. I'd like to see it, but they've cut down on a lot of the (for lack of a better term) "Metal" elements in regards to the supernatural in this adaptation, so I think it'll probably just be undead horses and animals and the like. That said I absolutely do think it's something that could be pulled off without anyone complaining.

To be honest I expect the show to be better then the spoilers.

there's a lot we still don't know but the spoilers I've read from Watchers on the Wall and Reddit have all been corroborated by set pics from spies around the location shootings.

The first. I acknowledge that something can look bad on paper and end up far better, but there are some stuff that will just plain curl your nose.

After a long road to becoming King in the North, Jon sticks around the North only long enough to pardon the Umbers and Karstarks before heading where to Dragonstone where he promptly more or less kept prisoner because the dothraki are playing keep away with his boat. And ends up bending the knee because, like everyone, he has to end up drinking the Targaryen cool-aid. Jon sounds worfed this season.

Euron ends up ****ing off back to Pyke when a wight scares him.
And even before that, he doesn't sound like he'll be much more than nu-Ramsey. I'm willing to be proven wrong about the later bit.

They'll keep teasing mad!Dany, which is a direction I would have approved of but I feel like they missed their shot at committing to it last season.

There's a bunch of other stuff. Theon is there just to feel bad, apparently. Gendry is back for fanservice.

I guess it is nothing new, but the intricacies and nuance of the books and earlier are just gone and it is all about the spectacle now.

Do keep in mind that intricacies and nuance largely don't have time to be played out in a television series :/ even with 1 hour episodes (or more, as S7 appears to have)

Not that complaints are bad... but it seems like most GOT complaints come from those who read the books. This is pretty normal, because a show just can't compete with a novel. Things will get cut. Things will get watered down. Thats why that whenever possible, you watch the show/movie first, and read the book second.

It does, but I'm trying to give it the benefit of the doubt. When I read the spoilers for The Door last year, I thought they sounded really dumb too but then that episode ended up being one of my favorites of the season.

I've been fine with plenty of changes, wasn't bothered or even loved them. Hardhome is a top three for me, even though the situation is very different in the books. But it worked because in-universe there's nothing about it that doesn't make sense.

In season 7, there is the [blackout]the wight hunt. It just feel like some heavy fanservice with little rhyme or reason, with plenty of the best warriors (and Gendry?) teaming up to hunt zombies. Bodies arent resurrecting south of the Wall. If they were the South would already know about the problem. Jon has to go beyond the Wall to get a resurrected person.

Didn't the night watch rangers who turned into wights turn while at castle black, which is technically south of the wall?
