The Seven are almost assuredly a load of made up horse ****.

R'hllor is real in some capacity. The Great Other may be some opposite to R'hllor and exist. The Old Gods whatever they were likely existed and may yet.

The Seven tho...they just seem like metaphors and similar to the old Roman and Greek gods. Pure made up horse****. Not remotely real or working in any capacity within GRRM's world. I dont think the Crone is in any way connected to Mel.

if things are as I suspect this is a battle of a cyclic nature. much like the passing of a comet. the men have fought back the long night at least 6 times that history records. each time there are songs and legends about the champions. over time they reach mythical status. the actual people playing the parts will change but the roles and the archetypes are the same. the only constant is the 3 eyed raven's memories that are passed on from one to the next thanks to the trees. some of which are thousands of years old. the game is neverending, the dead go back under the ice to rest and wait until it starts again.

The wolves will come again - Game of Thrones [Season 6 Spoilers]

I have a theory on how the show will end:

Eventually, Snow and Danyrese will team up and take Westeros by the end of next season. Unfortunately during the last season, Dani will start to become "The Mad Queen" and Jon will be forced to kill her and ultimately assume the Iron Throne with Tyrion as "The King's Hand".

Has one of those pictures done been made of all the characters on the show, with the dead ones greyed out?

It will end with an old Archmaester Sam Tarley (who looks like GRRM) finishing writing A Song of Ice and Fire and then putting it in the bookshelf of the library and locking the chain on it and walking away.

Game of Thrones co-creators confirm only two more seasons (13 episodes) left for series.

It’s two more seasons we’re talking about. From pretty close to the beginning, we talked about doing this in 70-75 hours, and that’s what we’ll end up with. Call it 73 for now. What Dan says is really true, but it’s not just trying not to outstay your welcome. We’re trying to tell one cohesive story with a beginning, middle and end. As Dan said, we’ve known the end for quite some time and we’re hurtling towards it. Those last images from the show that aired last night showed that. Daenerys is finally coming back to Westeros; Jon Snow is king of the North and Cersei is sitting on the Iron Throne. And we know the Night King is up there, waiting for all of them. The pieces are on the board now. Some of the pieces have been removed from the board and we are heading toward the end game. The thing that has excited us from the beginning, back to the way we pitched it to HBO is, it’s not supposed to be an ongoing show, where every season it’s trying to figure out new story lines. We wanted it to be one giant story, without padding it out to add an extra 10 hours, or because people are still watching it. We wanted to something where, if people watched it end to end, it would make sense as one continuous story. We’re definitely heading into the end game now.

Since they say to consider the total show runtime to be 73 hours (1 hour = 1 episode) and we are at 60 episodes its safe to assume that they mean 13 more episodes.

Feels about right with this sudden recent acceleration in all the storylines. In actual time though it's only a bit more than one 10 hour season left. :csad:

So will Volantis come into play at all? Talisa writing to her parents, etc...

I'm going to say, not a chance in hell.... but fun to speculate.

Tyrion is conveniently left out :)

As is Cersei. I think it's just supposed to include people involved in Robert's Rebellion. Jaime is involved because he's the kingslayer and Jon because he's Rhaegar and Lyanna's son.

Remember before "The Rains of Castamere" aired when there was a theory that Talisa was a co-conspirator of the Red Wedding because people thought those letters were really being sent to Tywin Lannister? Fun times.

We have seen Volantis briefly, but I think the only new locale we haven't seen before that has to come into play before the series ends is Casterly Rock.

Didn't we see a little bit of Volantis when the Greyjoys were drinking and Yara picked up the bar wench on their way to Mereen?

Also didn't Tyrion and Varys stop there for a short bit on their way to Mereen too?

Yes, i obviously meant in terms of the higher born families in volantis, since Talisa was high born.

Anyone keeping track of who possesses Valyrian steel? We know it defeats the White Walkers so it surely has a purpose in the final, assuming Westeros is overtaken by White Walkers and Wights (who can be defeated by fire - hello dragons).

Jon Snow has Longclaw.
Brienne of Tarth has Oathkeeper
Sam Tarly has Heartsbane
Littlefinger has a Valyrian dagger
Joffrey, then Tommen (now Cersei or Jaime?) had Widow's Wail

Did Meera use a Valyrian speer to keel a White Walker?

It would be cool if it turns out Arya's Needle was made of Valyrian steel.

Nobody within the Targaryen/Martell/Tyrell/Greyjoy party possess the steel but they do have 3 dragons, I guess.

Also, the Maesters of each House carry chains of Valyrian steel, is there significance to this? Could they melt them down for more swords? Surely the Citadel where Sam is currently studying has some lying around to make more chains?

I really hope that they finally reunite Arya and Nymeria next season.

I'm hoping the Beric reveals (a less evil zombie) Lady Stoneheart as a member of the Brotherhood. Makes sense since the Brotherhood were re-introduced and have met with the Hound. I imagine Arya will encounter them again, before she returns to Winterfell. I'm sure she'll find Nymeria at the same time too. Having said that, they don't like giving the fans what they want lol

Honestly, I don't think you are far off. Sam is the writer of words.

Winter wanes, the King and Queen rest with their children and grandchildren as the wall is rebuilt, and spring comes to Westeros.

Meera used an obsidian blade for her spear, and Needle seems to have been confirmed as caste steel instead of Valyrian. And a plot point in the melting of Ice into Widow's Wail and Oathkeeper was that only about three men in the world know how to do it, so the Maester's chains may not have an immediate applicability as weapons of war.

However, while Dany and her court don't have any known anti-Walker weapons, they may be able to take Dragonstone and its massive obsidian resources.

It's unfortunately that the show runners are treating the dire wolves as afterthoughts. It won't surprise me if Nymeria never show up again, just like Ghost's disappearance in the final two episodes.

Hopefully that changes with season seven. Less episodes means a higher budget for each episode (not to mention nine actors are off the payroll after the season finale), so maybe we'll get to see a lot more of Ghost next season in between all the extensive dragon CGI. I think we're owed at least one more appearance from Nymeria too.
