I know that, but I wonder what happened to him after the sinister six. Was he just working for Ock or what?

Since Ock was prepared to call him in, I'd guess so. But otherwise he probably have done nothing big since New Year's Eve.

Wiki is wrong, well technically they are. It airs here in Australia on the 16th, which is the 15th for the US since we're about 17 hours ahead.

And to clear up some other issues, yes the eps from Australia are sped up because PAL plays at a faster frame rate than NTSC, so it has nothing to do with the encode.

Also, ep 210 was broadcast in the wrong aspect ratio, that's why the sides are cut off, again, nothing to do with the encode.

As someone already mentioned the wide screen versions are out for 201 and 202. These are mine, I have been learning to encode for the past few days but while I was learning, someone else encoded 209 and 210, and he doesn't get ws. So expect the rest of season 2 to be coming out in ws.

But since 210 was played in the wrong aspect ratio, my version of it will just be a proper full screen, so expect a v2 for that some time. I think that covers it. Just hope they play the last 3 eps correctly.
Thanks for clearing that up. I suspected that it was due to the PAL vs NTSC difference. However isn't this normally compensated for when it's broadcast? Alternatively I would have thought it possible to re-encode the episode to change the frame rate?

No problem. I don't think it can be "compensated for when it's broadcast" because, well, that's how it's broadcast to be received on PAL televisions.

As far as re-encoding I'm not too sure, as I'm new to this, but I would think that would mean having to re-sync the audio which would probably be a headache.

It's the same with the UK releases of W&TXM, even the ones without edits have a shorter running time compared to the Canadian versions.

Thank you very much for your hard work. I love your wide screen versions of those episodes, a really different experience watching it that way. Keep up with the good work ;)

Just finished watching the episode and i loved it. I think it might be one of the more artistic and visually gifted episodes of the series, just how perfect they work the opera music into the action.

You can tell the guys have seen a Godfather movie before.

My only iff about the film is the end with Goblin wanting to be the new Big Man of crime, i really dont think that fits his persona, but ill always give the show and creative the edge of reason before i judge.

That was a big motivation for the Goblin in his Stan Lee days. Gobby tried to take over the underworld several times before he learned who Spidey really was, and became all obsessed with him.

I sorta get that.

But yeah, i guess it is just seeing Goblin in that setting that throw me off, it look more of an Osborn setting, then Goblin, who is crazy, to be so steady and calm to have that villianous cliche chair spin reveal.

where is the thread about Subtext? hopefully it will be online tomorrow.

At first I wasn't very fond of the whole suit Silvermane wore, but meh watching it again I seem to enjoy it. It's kinda nice to watch. Wonder what happened to Kraven? Flash, J.J.J and preety much everyone had something to say as a joke^^

It's funny that this season Betty Brant, Randy, Robbie and Kong haven't had much development this season.
Yeah, I noticed that, too. I guess they can only do so much. Maybe next season we will see more development of characters that were not developed in season two.

After two episodes turning this arc into a letdown, Gangland makes up for it.
It's certainly the best of the Gang War arc and one of the best of the season.
The characters were all top notch. Hammerhead is more bad@ss than ever. Doc Ock is even greater. Tombstone...well, everything that comes from him is pure awesomeness. And I liked Silvermane from the moment he showed up. He was sick.
The battle was really great. I specially loved how Spidey defeated Ock and how he managed to beat Tombstone. It was entirely a fist fight, and we rarely see Spidey defeating his foes like that in this show.
All the other characters, such as Flash, Sha Shang, Mark, MJ and Kong were all nicely done. Gwen was so beautiful, and I felt sorry for Liz. Peter was pretty hypocrate. JJ was even funnier.
The only thing that turned me off was the whole orchestra during that fight. I would rather have a more "agitated" song. It reminded me of Punisher 2004. It worked there, but not here. Otherwise, it would have been a 10.
9/10

It was also good to finally see Goblin again.
Yep! Spider-Man is starting to learn how to fight. The fist fight with Tombstone was amazing!

Probably old news to all, and since after im done watching the episode, i really dont pay attention to the credits.

But i had no idea that hottie, Nikki Cox was the voice of Silver Sable. That was very surprising to me...

probably the best ep of the entire run and all spidey shows

just pure brilliance. a great end to a mediocred paced arc.

Trap of hollywood? I thought her lips were caught in a bear trap.

I really enjoyed the music in this episode, think it would be quite cool to see an opera battle in one of the upcoming Spidey films because it gave off quite an epic feel.

Bloody hell, is Subtext due out, too? Wow, that's three episodes in one week!!!

if batman has the best rogues in comics spidey definately has the best supporting cast.

Apparently, this is on Wikipedia:

24 "Subtext" March 15, 2009 211
Determined to be a better boyfriend to Liz Allan, Peter Parker wishes he could help her brother Mark Allan. But when Green Goblin blackmails Mark into doing his bidding, neither Liz, Mary Jane Watson nor Spider-Man may be able to save him!
25 "Opening Night" Greg Weisman March 16, 2009 212
To test the security system at the Vault, Spider-Man volunteers to try to escape. But the Green Goblin has other ideas, trapping Spidey inside Ryker’s amid a sea of felons he put away.
26 "Final Curtain" March 17, 2009 213
When Peter Parker breaks up with Liz Allan to finally be with Gwen Stacy, nothing goes as planned. Likewise for Spider-Man, who finally unmasks the Green Goblin.

I could agree with this.

I just don't think anyone's rogue gallery can match up to Batman's. Spider-man and Flash is close but I personally enjoy Batman's more.

apparently the couple that got engaged at the party were a set spidey saved in the first series

if that is true, then that is probably the most awesome part of the ep

this ultimately means gwen's gonna die at the end of season 3.

i love it.

Do we know what time it runs in Australia? Is it a morning show or an afternoon show?

It's already the 15th there, but it's just 5:40 am... BUT, if it's a morning show, it'll air soon... I hope it's online later tonight...
