Yeah, I meant UK. And isn't there still some racism alive against Pakistani immigrants? You mean UK right?
The BNP are a tiny fringe party; not so much racist as Islamophobic but I take your point. They are repulsive, but not taken seriously by the vast majority of the population. Race crimes are also severley (but thankfully) rare here. The BNP are dying fast and even then they play on Islamic extremism and overpopulation rather than irrational hatred of black people.

As a black person, I think you're being ironically hypocritical.
All that other stuff doesn't matter. All that matters is that some people are being denied their rights by others. All that other crap is just a change in scenery.
Also, is it only homosexuality in front of children or is it any? I'm assuming the former cuz otherwise you wouldn't have bothered with the distinction. Mmmmmm that's good Hypocrysy.![]()
Just two dudes kissing would be an expression of homosexuality.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

That's nothing kids don't already see in cartoons. Granted, it's usually played for comedy in those cases.
So wait, Green Lantern is now gay?
A slightly less popular Green Lantern in an alternate universe that none of us really care about...
Then what was the point?
Then what was the point?
Because the writer wanted to write a gay character.
Still seems too 'safe'....aside from a relatively low-risk marketing gimmick, it's really not an impactful move if it's someone so minor. To get people talking since homosexuality is still a big deal to some people. Thus drawing attention to the book and DC in general. The same goes for Northstar's upcoming wedding at Marvel. Similar deals for the deaths of Supes or Cap, introducing black Spidey, etc.
Making Jimmy Olsen gay would've been a more daring move. At least then it'd be someone from the mainstream universe that non-readers could identify.
It should have been a real main character...like Supes, Bats, or Wonder Woman, if they were out to make a 'statement'.
