Dropped my preorder on this ish today, but my idiot co-employee didnt give me my beta code, so i gotta head back there to get that mess. I want in on this beta dammit!

Im really excited for this beta. Everytime you hear an epic worker talking about the multiplayer everything about it just sounds right and the fact that they know that Gears 2 onlnie sucked big time is also a plus.

I just started playing Gears 2 online not long ago and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Gears 1 was perfect online when it was first released. Then they took host names off Ranked servers. That didn't ruin the game, but was just the beginning of the bad decisions Epic made with multiplayer up through Gears 2.

Gears 3 better not repeat the same mistakes. From friends of mine that are already in the beta, it doesn't sound like much has changed. I can't wait to find out for myself in 10 or so days!

I never played any online Gears 2, just the campaign and a bit of local Horde mode. Last night I stayed up until 4:30 am with 3 friends trying to get past level 20 on insane on the same map. It was freakin' annoying but so much fun. I'm planning on getting a few MP games under my belt to try and get a swing going on in time for the beta.

@StarkvsRogers, how have your friends already got access? The early launch doesn't happen till the 18th. Also, I was under the impression Gears 3 was changed quite dramatically, sped up a bit and completely different deathmatch mode?

Most betas nowadays aren't really betas at all. You just feel like you're playing a glorified demo. (Which most of them are.)

Yea thats part of it, but some of these betas do a lot for the finished product. They are going to be collecting tons of data from this beta run and thats going to go into tweaking the final product(what weapons people use, how they use them, their effectiveness etc etc). Beta's are great for that because they cant employ enough testers to do that. Gears 3 isnt out until Sept, so this Beta run will leave them plenty of time to take that feedback and make a better product. It also gets them good press as people get to play the game early. Its a win/win situation.

Haha, as iv been telling everyone else, iv already promised 3, so I'm not sure how many more I can print out before risking getting into too much trouble. I mean I don't think I should, I'm not stealing or anything. I'll try and get as many as I can tho. I'll let everyone know tonight how many I got

No worries Pat, i've got one from Bulletstorm. Just wanted to get one for my gears buddy so we can play together, but it's in no way urgent :P I know how it is with ill gotten freebies, you gotta spend 'em wisely :P
