I'm really liking how the lancer is in this game. It feels much more accurate than past games.

Anywho.. Apparently there's a way to get into the beta...Right now. I don't have a Flash Drive to spare at the moment but if anyone else is interested you may want to try this:


Firstly this way is pretty legit no hacked profiles or nothing. You won't get banned or any crazy stuff like that.

What you need:
1. A USB flash Drive (small ones work better anywhere between 1-4 GB.)
2. http://digiex.net/downloads/downloa...sb-storage-explorer-xplorer-xtaf-v44-new.html USBXTAF This is a small program used to transfer game saves and such to an xbox 360 memory stick. Again nothing illegal or anything with this program.
3. The GoW Beta download. (Pass is "cccodyyyy") http://www.megaupload.com/?d=14IHTJKA
4. The ability to read.

Tutorial
1. Plug your flash drive into your 360 and format it so it can be used for 360 memory.
2. go into your memory and copy something from your xbox hdd to the usb drive. something small will be faster like an arcade game (full house poker).
3. Once copied take the usb stick out and plug it into your PC.
4. Run USBxtaf and open the device.
5. You should see a content folder with 16 0's on it. Click into that folder. Next you will want to inject your GoW 3 beta into there.
6. Before you can do that though you must create a folder named "4D5389B9". Now go into your Gears of War 3 beta folder and move the 08000 folder into the 4D5 folder.
7. Once that is done all you need to do is inject the 4D5389B9 folder into the content folder using XTAF.
8. Then just plug your usb stick into the xbox and go to game library/demos and trials and it should be in there. There is a 500mb update before you play though. Once that is done you can move the GoW3 beta to your normal hdd and continue playing.

I think they should just not make the shotgun a default weapon. Set two or three on the map instead.

Yep, people who hack the beta get banned from both the beta and the full game when it's released.

Also like the ideas about shotgun, although it fee's like they've beefed up the lancer and hammerburst this time around so you can take down shotgunning bastards well enough if you keep a distance.

Shotguns feel much better in the beta. The Gnasher has a lot more range but it hardly hurts you at long range and up close its still 2-3 shots to put you down unless its a headshot in which case you're dead. The Sawed off you need to be basically touching the guy to kill him and if you miss better switch weapons because the reload is really long. All the rifles have been beefed up, the Retro Lancer is a beast in close quarters. If you see a guy coming at you with a shotgun bust out the Retro Lancer and he'll be dead before he even gets within range.

I'm thinking about getting that Gears bundle with some credit I have left on my Edge card. Maybe play some Gears 2 online after the beta ends.

...Unless it ends with the launch of Gear 3, but... That never happens.

I had really been enjoying this game but I got slaughtered by some rolling shotgun guy last night. I understand that it's a legitimate tactic and all that, but it totally broke the game for me for the whole night. It just stopped me from playing the game the way I like, and rendered every other tactic useless, this one guy who used no tactics or strategy at all but would someone get instant one hit kills every time, no matter the range. Not even headshots. It was infuriating.
