I'll have to wait until Thurs night to pull the all nighter. My plan is to head to the midnight release, hit up the mp for an hour or 2 and then hit the bed. I won't get to play it much at all come Tuesday so at least I'll get a little Gears in before then.

In fairness I will probably be catching up on some other games as well as Gears 3 in that window. I'm extremely far behind on my AAA single player campaign/RPG style games.

I've timed it perfectly... I'm getting it at midnight launch on the monday night, and then I don't have any obligations until wednesday afternoon. My friends and I have been trying to sync up so we can all do 4 player co-op, the first playthrough, the whole way through, with everyone being a particular character from start to finish. It's getting difficult to organise though, but I think there will be at least 3 of us. What will suck is if one person has to go to work on the tuesday or something, it's gonna be really hard to resist the rest of the campaign without them.

Hell of an idea, I gotta see if I can do the same. Usually I perfer to play the game by myself first then do co-op with whoever an however many times but perhaps I'll change it up this time around.

Yea Gears is DEFF best played with buddies, and considering its more than 2 players this time, thats gonna be a blast.

I've got "the 4" sorted. All long time Gears players so will be on Insane as soon as allowed. The only rule is you get shot if you speak during a cutscene.

Haven't really been reading much about this game, so a couple of questions. Did they improve the multiplayer because I hated it in Gears 2. And please tell me the campaign is longer? I want to buy it, but I need to know if these things were addressed. Thanks people.

Multiplayer is a lot better than Gears 2. A tonne of people played the beta which should give a good indication of the final game and I don't think I've seen even one person say it's not a big improvement on Gears 2 multiplayer.

If people talk during a cutscene while playing for the first time just mute your mic during that cutscene

@Donut, it's not about volume, it's about RESPECT. If people on my team are the kind of people who talk during a cutscene, they don't deserve a place on the team :P at least for the first playthrough.

Im happy to hear that the sawed off can't down you anymore. That was one of my biggest pet peeves while it makes sense that it can down you, I always thought it should be an all or nothing weapon since it is so powerful. Also, I saw videos of the new Trenches and I love it. The caves is going to help immensely with the spawn camping issues and the problems with the mortar that the level had.

jacobed, I never understood the sawn off downing complaints but I guess if you're saying it makes sense but you prefer it from a game balance point of view I can agree with that.

I heard Trenches was changed though due to feedback like how jacobed described.

They tweaked things but there is actually another sand trench based level that has a big cave, cavern thing that I think Jacobed was referring to.

Edit: I stand corrected, Epic just had the video of the new trenches under the description for another sand based level, which was somewhat misleading. Found some awesome multiplayer videos of some of the other maps though
