While Pg-13 seems to to-go rating for studios these days , i don't think that GoW needs to have one.
Obviously finances play a big role in determining your rating. The higher the budget of a movie , the higher the chance that the studio will demand an Pg-13.

It's also good business. So therefore if they can reduce the budget of a GoW movie , an R rating migh be possible. ANd that is why 300-style is the way to go for GoW. It reduces the budget significantly . Obviously a GoW movie will cost more then 300 ( i believe the budget was around 65 million ) but i don't think they'll need to go higher then 100 million

If the movies anything like the game then its gonna be rated R for sure. Those are exact look alikes btw ^

Anton Chigurh, you win at making casting decisions. If I ever see any of them playing those roles, I'll orgasm. Oh, and if we don't receive Speight as Cole...I ain't seeing the film, at all.

Based on your gears of war casting, I kind of want to see your castings for other films.

Wow the casting is spot on. Maybe epic games modeled their characters around those actors!

All them casting choices seem pretty spot on.. I was trying to think of someone for Fenix but Dominic Purcell has already been suggested and couldn't think of anyone else.. I got a couple other ideas for Cole;

Chris Judge and Kevin Greivoux

I like the idea of the prequel.. It'll be Gears of War but not just a straight adap and they can always do the game story for a sequel and the next part of the war (GoW2) for the threequel..

No no no. Cole can't be acted by anyone other than Speight. You can't have any other actor parading around the landscape, yelling about the Cole train.

I think since New Line is part of WB now, wb will take their time to make this flick ala 300 style.

Read the script review from Latino review. It's full of spoilers, but I think they've got an excellent screenplay as long as they stick to it.
