Beautiful woman but that whole ensemble is tragic. I have no idea what her stylist was thinking. Maybe she doesn't have a stylist and that's the problem.

I'm not even the most fashion-forward gay and I think it looks dreadful.

The torso part looks like an astrology chart.

The longer you stare at that dress you keep finding more and more hideous details. Who on earth would design such a thing.

Probably the same idiot that designed these pieces of "haute fashion":

I can see Cate Blanchett pulling off the silver one with the napkins but Cate Blanchett can pull off most things.

I hope even the standalone movies have "A long time ago in a galaxy far far away..." at the beginning. I dont consider it part of the crawl.

What about the star-field pan to horizon and ship opening?

What about the traditional star-field pan to horizon and ship opening?

If it's not an Episode film, it shouldn't have the crawl...

That makes no sense without the crawl. That is apart of the crawl.
Without the crawl if they want they can still open fine on a star field, paning toward a planet, horizon, to track a ship, etc.
;)

The pan dowb could be done if it opens in space. For instance, opens on a vast starfield, pan down to a star destroyer over the planet Jyn and her family are on. Krennic's personal craft departs the star destroyer, and goes to the surface to get Jyn's father.

Or something like that.

Would it be a pan without the crawl? Why wouldn't they start on the shot? The pan happens because the crawl is "in space"?

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away..

STAR WARS

A vast sea of stars. Camera pans down.

We see a small spacecraft heading towards a green planet.
