Lordy. At no point did I say or infer that you said that. Just because I had quote marks around something when I'm talking to you

You're whole argument was built on suggesting I inferred what was in the quote you made up.
Oh, get lost with that attitude. "Used sparingly" in no way precludes "one scene where he cuts someone down"
Since I do expect at least one scene where he cuts someone down.
I simply asked you where you think I said or inferred what you quoted, to keep your argument honest.
Just show it.
(talking to you being a mistake I won't be making again, Mr. Pedantic)
Cause I asked you to be honest.

No. My whole argument has been "I think Vader not cutting down Rebels would be a missed opportunity".* You've gone off on some tangent, trying to make an argument out of nothing at all, confusing quote marks as me trying to say you were saying something you didn't... On a written forum, for everyone to see.

*Note that just because I've used quote marks here, doesn't mean I'm saying you said this.

Have your other 4000 posts been so pointless?

No but putting it in quotes I imagine you're suggesting it's not what you said but what you inferred.
Hence I honestly asked you where did I say or infer what you quoted.

You've gone off on some tangent, trying to make an argument out of nothing at all,

Actually you tried to make an argument based on a quote you made up. Then argued against your made up quote whose inference you dishonestly tried to ascribe to me.

You've spent 6 posts now desperate to avoid answering the simple question I repeated to you.
Where did I say or infer what you quoted?
You honestly can't answer the simple question because you know you made it up and ascribed it's inference to me.

Here is the simple answer you are aperantly terrified to admit and post.
Nowhere did I say or infer that.
You made it up to argue.

Edit: Let's move on.:cwink:

EDIT: Oh goddammit. I'm getting salty with all this nonsense now, and you've taken up too much thread space already. So I'm taking the "Never argue with an *blank*..." road and wishing you well on your merry chase of ridiculousness.

That is the best advice I can give you on this. :funny:

I'm glad there won't be a text crawl. It differentiates it from the main episodes. These anthology films provide the space to do that kind of experimentation.

Agree, it'll destinguish it from Skywalker saga episodes which all start with a crawl.
Also we've known the set up this movie's crawl would cover, since the 70s.:yay:

Although I do like how they used it in this teaser:I

Indeed! Apparently I'm lying about something... when anyone here can see the posts and read for themselves. :loco:

EDIT: And now I see he's trying to edit posts to make it seem like he's getting in the final word first. :funny: Some people...

He is very adamant about things. Like when and what kind of trailers are going to come out. Never wrong though. Never. :o

Wow adamant about things? You're still bringing that Olympic trailer up?
Still!
You really love to argue.
Look I admit I know absolutely nothing about this behind the scenes stuff, when trailers are supposed to hit, how long they are supposed to be, how many, how far apart, what needs to be in them etc.
I have no idea, I never said I did, you guys are the apparent experts.
R1 is really the first film I ever even remotely followed anything behind the scenes this level, and on this forum. It's all pretty new to me.

Back then someone said the Olympic teaser trailer would be be 90 sec not a full trailer.
To which I replied it seemed like plenty, comparing it to releases for The Force Awakens.
whose list I compiled from SH. - http://forums.superherohype.com/showpost.php?p=34100613&postcount=614

That's all I had to go by, and asked you...
With Thursdays upcoming teaser won't they pretty much be three for three with the Force Awakens teaser and trailer releases as of Aug.

List - http://forums.superherohype.com/showpost.php?p=33726215&postcount=29
Quote:

And that 3rd FA teaser is 15 seconds.
Their big trailer didn't hit till Oct.
I imagined incorrectly that R1 might follow the same.

But more importantly in the face of what shocked me as a petulant no we deserve more now attitude. Like this was the worst news in the world.
I was trying to stay positive about the fact that even at 90sec something was coming during the Olympics so why complain? This was huge, it all seemed great! That they'd probably drop a Vader tease, which they did! And that even more full trailers would come in Oct.
Which they did!:woot:

So what are you still griping about with that?
Seriously?

As far as if Vader will "go to town" on the Rebels with his saber?
Again I provided the quote that Vader would be used sparingly, we know he's not the main antagonist, Gareth has really emphasized the dynamic of Krennic as a counter to Vader, and the intrigue seems to come from Vader being played against Krennic.
I provided actual quotes, not made up ones like titansupes

Not to argue you shouldn't want to see it, just saying you might be setting yourself up, for disappointment if you expect Vader to be on the battle field mowing down Rebels, pulling X-Wings out of the sky, spinning around and "going to town" with his saber.

Being on the battle field might not be his role here. He might just use it once, "sparingly" where it counts, on the one person where it hurts the heroes (and spectators rooting for them) the most.
It could be something much more visually subtle than "go to town", yet much more powerful.

Mondragon I think you need to get some air man. Get out of the house for a little bit or something. Yikes. Take a break, relax.

Yeah you never need to make this about me personally.
I don't post here that often, I pop in looking for news and discussion about R1, someone continues to mention or quote me for a discussion I will likely reply . Hence the uncommon and awkward sudden string here, and now this reply too.
You certainly didn't need to make another post to talk about me, thanks for your concern. There's a million other Star Wars topics you could have brought up and moved on, but you chose to post just about me?
That was you, your choice?
You never need to do that.
Let's move on!

From the EW article, this image and description stood out. http://www.ew.com/gallery/rogue-one-exclusive-images/2831749_rogue-one-star-wars-story

One of the few backgrounds/locations we hadn't seen in the trailers yet.
And from the description I didn't realize Cassian had men infiltrated in Saw Gerrera's group.
Definitely an interesting set up.

Diego Luna, right, plays Captain Cassian Andor, a veteran spy for the Rebellion who has a network of contacts throughout the galaxy who help him keep eyes and ears on the activities of the Empire. Andor is like a CIA field agent, and this man, Tivik, played by Daniel Mays (The Infiltrator, Atonement) is one of his underworld connections to the insurgent group led by Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker). "He is one of Cassian's contacts on the moon of Jedha," says co-producer John Swartz.

Composer Michael Giacchino describes music - http://www.ew.com/article/2016/11/2...e?xid=entertainment-weekly_socialflow_twitter

At the time, it left me with literally four and a half weeks to write. So it was one of those decisions where you’re like, okay, well… And I was talking to my brother about it. He goes, “Oh, come on. You’ve been writing this score since you were 10! You can do this.”

It does borrow from traditions that both John [Williams] and George Lucas borrowed from when they made the original Star Wars, you know. George was looking at Flash Gordon, the old serials, and John was looking at [Gustav] Holst and different composers along the way to get a baseline for what he wanted to communicate. There is a wonderful musical language that John put together for the original films. I wanted to honor that vernacular but still do something new with it, something that was still me in a way.

I think absolutely there are a couple of times when you want to hit upon something that was from the past. For me, even as a fan, it was about going, “Oh, this particular idea would be great if we did it here. I would want to see that if I were watching a Star Wars movie.” As a kid who grew up with John’s music and who was catapulted in this direction because of what he did, I had a very specific idea of what I wanted to use and how I wanted to use it. That being said, I’d say the score is 95 percent original but with little moments [of Williams’ classic score] here or there to accent. If I were sitting in that seat and I heard that, it would totally raise the hairs on my neck.

It’s tough to convey music in words, but is there anything you can describe about the elements in your Rogue One music? A teaser before we hear it?

I remember writing to Don Williams, my timpani player, who happens to be John’s brother, actually. And Don has played on everything I’ve ever done. We’ve worked together for years, and he’s just an amazing timpani player. And the timpani is usually something that, you know, that’s an accent here and there, and comes in when needed.

So, heavy on the kettledrums and percussion …

I texted him about a week before the [scoring] sessions and I said, “Don… there is an F-load of timpani in this movie! And it’s complicated and it’s hard.” And he was just like, “Let me at it.” I don’t know that I’ve written more timpani for a film than I have for this. He did an incredible job and it gives this great weight, this great anchor to a lot of the pieces. But it also helps in the more chaotic moments as well.

Are there any other instruments that also take a lead role?

I think that there is perhaps slightly more ethereal things at work in this film too. How you may use an electric guitar… or how you may use any synth additions… It’s a symphonic score but there are these little accents that we added in order to sort of deal with certain story elements in the film.

Did you incorporate many elements of John Williams’ score?

Did you get to do your take on the Imperial March?

[Laughs] Maaaaaaybe.

You don’t want to say?

Well, what’s the fun in knowing what’s there? You want to be surprised, right?

Can you describe the opening title theme? Do you use elements of his work there?

It’s done slightly differently here because it’s not one of the saga films, it’s not one of the trilogies. It’s sort of its own thing and the whole idea from the very beginning was these should be standalone movies. So it’s going to be a slightly different way to get things kicked off

Gahhh, I cant wait to listen to this score!

Anyone know if the blue text "a long time ago in a galaxy far far away..." is part of the opening crawl? Could they still include that blue text or is it part of the crawl?

I hope even the standalone movies have "A long time ago in a galaxy far far away..." at the beginning. I dont consider it part of the crawl.
