Best TV spot ever:

The theme at the end.:hmr:

And I could be wrong, but Im pretty sure that Saw is living in the ruins of the ancient Jedi Temple on Jedha. Thats pretty cool.

And what the hell is up with that spine chilling scream? Its mixed into the audio track when the AT-ACT's foot is coming down beside Chirrut and Baze. Sounds like its coming from someone thats in a whole hell of a lot of pain.

That's Bistan the space monkey busting a nut.

From a CBR forum post OT, some potentially awkward and superficial parallels, but still fun.
...I want to assemble a task-force

...just a curiosity, purely for fun since they are both on suicide missions, Parallel tropes comparison.
Side-by-side: Some more visual, some more thematic.

Jyn /Harley -The Rebellious Bad-Girls
Andor / Diablo Santana - The loyal this is "Mi Familia" Latinos
Chirrut / Katana - The Mysterious Asian Martial artist.
Baze / Slipknot - Big Silent guy
Bodhi / Boomerang - Cocky self described "Hot-Head"
K2 / Crock - The frightful muscle will probably pull your arms off.
Gerrera / Deadshot - The de-facto leaders.

Krennic / Waller - Power suit wearing Ruthless functionary.
Vader / Enchantress - Ancient Supernatural Mystic Powers, you're a fool if you think you can control them.

Could have gone a few ways,
Andor might better fit Flag
Waller might better parallel Mon Mothma as strong female leaders (although to different ends) etc...

How would you match against each-other?

Interesting bit on Gareth Edwards' guerrilla directing style, and for worse and better , what John Knoll visual effects supervisor (who came to Kennedy with the story) has to contend with in post. -

Empire Magazine. January 2017: said:
There was, however, a downside to Edwards' guerrilla process; producer Kathleen Kennedy certainly sensed some frustration from him. "Crafting it through the lens is very much a product of his style," she says, "but its very hard to do inside these giant movies where you have to plan everything. Finding that balance for Gareth was tough."
It is also one of the reasons why John Knoll's brainchild is giving him such a headache now, during these final stages. Because Edwards doesn't block out his scenes ahead of shooting, instead allowing the actors to find and hit their own marks while the cameras roll, "that can make it a little harder to make sure you have bluescreens in the right places". Sometimes Knoll would just have to say, "Okay, we shot it, but here weren't any tracking marks (to indicate where VFX elements would go). Well, We'll figure it out, I guess." So, he admits, "Its been a little harder in post." But there is an all-important upside. "You do get that spontaneity in-camera that outweighs those concerns. In the end the results are better."

Looks like it was frustrating for the post production team, but the payoff might outweigh it.

Yeah from that shot it looks like he might be witnessing (and part of) the end of that giant temple and the whole Jedha city plateau by the DS.

Spoiler warning (not from trailers, from official but a pretty offbeat place:The Star Wars: Galactic Atlas book trailer)-

Text suggests that Saw and his group's hidden base is in the Jedha catacombs once used to store Kyber Crystals.
Which is what the Empire is hauling out of there.

Also the Jedha concept art shows there might be more to Jedha than just what's on the surface.

Is there anyone here who has read the Rogue One prequel novel Catalyst and follows Star Wars canon in general? I ask because for a few months now I've been doing a complete go-through of the entire canon media timeline (we'really talking the movies, shows, books, comics, short stories, everything) and I'm wondering where exactly Catalyst fits on that timeline. I realize it's set years before the movie takes place, but when exactly? I usually use Star Wars wikia for this but it says "Exact placement currently unknown" and lists it right in the middle of the Clone Wars show.

For reference, I've finished all of Clone Wars and next am about to start the novel Dark Disciple .

Catalyst covers a few years after Episode III to just prior to Rogue One movie.

If you want spoilers review (list of detailed facts) explains the timeline covered and more.

Post the link but put a bold warning above the link that it has major spoilers so that people will know what they are clicking on.

The first couple of chapters of Catalyst take place during the Clone Wars until Order 66. The timeline then moves years ahead and the book ends (this is an educated guess based on Jyn's age) about 15 years before Rogue One.

Had to settle for Monday night tickets, but at least its Dolby and dead center seats.

I thought all theaters had Dolby speaker setups? Hasnt that been the standard in all theaters for decades?
