Thanks Snow! I think this new SW movie will go somewhere further to unite, not just fans, but make a mark in a global sense. Imagine kids of all races growing up in a world where they know any one of any race can be a hero. Not force fed the politics of yesteryear, but the dynamic of change being real. AND HERE NOW. :)

Han dying makes sense because Harrison has wanted that to happen for 30 years and Harrison and Han are old and Harrison isnt exactly spry enough to play the character much longer. Plus if Rey and or Kylo are his kid(s) it iust seems likely that this would be the film that he bites it in.

Chewie on the other hand is a character with a 200+ year lifespan and the character can be played by any 7' tall actor. Chewie just has more potential value to the franchise going forward. And if Rey is Han's daughter Chewie would take care of her with the same ferocity and loyalty he showed towards Han. It just makes more sense to keep Chewie as a companion to Rey. Not an old Han. They can get more mileage out of Chewie.

As for how it would effect me, Chewie dying would hurt me a lot more.

I'm so anxious to see this on the big screen while I enjoy a large drink and food at an Alamo Drafthouse theater!

The story about the guy committing suicide over star wars having a black lead character is apparently a hoax.

I think the whole boycott is kind of a troll hoax, as in not real views... just something to get internet attention.

Why exactly has Ford never liked Han Solo? I don't think I ever knew the problem but I know he wanted to get the character killed off since like ESB or ROTJ

Han is probably my favorite character in all of Star Wars. To me there is something beautiful in the idea of watching him go out with one last heroic moment. I certainly am not opposed to seeing more Han, but I'm fine with Han possibly dying in TFA.

Don't hate me for being still a fan of the EU, I'm still gonna watch Disney's 7
anyway. :yay:

He wanted him killed off for ROTJ I remember, did he also bring it up for Empire?

Imagine with some of the racist boycotters, they may actually commit suicide if JJ has a side love story of interracial relationship between a black man and white woman. We gon' see racist fanboys jumping from buildings :hehe: Man I hope he goes that route :) All the racists can be exposed and freak out. It will be fantastic :o

I think the original story was the carbonite killed him, either in the process or they'd find him dead in RotJ. Then after he talked about it happening at the end of Jedi.

He didnt have an issue with the character he just felt Han's arc ended in ESB, and it did. He wanted to move on from the role. Han was put in carbonite in case they couldnt get Harrison to return for ROTJ. But Lucas got him back for ROTJ and Harrison argued for Han making the ultimate sacrifice in the battle, and for a little while it was considered, but Lucas thought it was too depressing so he made it a rule that none of the trio could die in ROTJ. That didnt sit well with Harrison.

And Harrison has always been a little stand offish ever since about Han and I think JJ got him back by promising to give the character the ending Harrison always wanted him to have. Plus I cant see Harrison signing a multipicture deal.

Also the scene of Kylo Ren staring at the window with the red len flare reminded a lot of this scene in STID

I think he would have came back for Lucas as well to be honest, and I hope he is in the next one.

Ford hated George Lucas' writing. There was literally no background to the character. Ford often talks about the direction he got from Lucas was stuff like "Make Han like Bogart".

I remember back on the 20th anniversary Ford was asked by Barbara Walthers if he would ever play Han Solo again, and his response was, "that's a pretty thin character." Meaning there was nothing for him as an actor to gain from playing him again other than money.

I don't think Ford dislikes Han....but I wouldn't be surprised if Ford likes being Indiana Jones more than he does being Han Solo. I don't think Ford would ever have a desire to see Indy killed.

The EU had a lotf o trash, the Thrawn trilogy wasn't that, that trilogy was great.

The Thrawn Trilogy and the KOTOR duology are both the high points of the old EU for me. Most everything else isn't noteworthy, besides a few comic runs.
