The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is your number 4 comic book film over The Dark Knight, you care about Rotten Tomatoes scores how much?

Poster for a new thread.

Oh sweet summer child. You didnt experience the release of The Dark Knight Rises, did you? When the Tomato score dropped below 90% people started sending out death threats to critics. Im not even joking. RT.com had to disable the comments because people lost their minds and got violent because the critics werent giving the movie 5/5. It was insanity.

I've been here since 2009 but I can't remember that to be honest.

Spiderman2 is, an interesting poster to say the least. Remember how you said some people like to look for trouble or start it? Yeahhhhh..

I still have never seen Spider-man 2 (2013....or was it 2014? Meh.)

I really don't care about RT anymore. It's not just me saying that. I've been let down too many times now by films that are above 90%, due to the shallowness of the binary system.

It's a solid and convenient system for avoiding the real turkeys out there. But as far as these tentpole geek films go, it's borderline irrelevant to me at this point.

lol I only care because if I love a movie I want it to get the credit I fell like it deserves and even though there are a lot of movies I don't agree with it still makes me fell more confident if a movie gets a good score that it will be good. Also it is hard to be a fan of a movie that you think is good when it is consider bad or ok. Also if a movie gets good/great reviews it could end up making more money because a lot of people will either see a movie or not see a movie depending on the reviews. PS I think I have changed my mind and think I like dark knight slightly more then amazing spider man 2.

I like Rotten Tomatoes and I think that 75% of critics are trying as hard as they can to not be biased but it isn't the end all be to me and it shouldn't be to anyone. When I am on the fence about a film, no I will not see it if less than 40% of critics are recommending it. If I have no interest in a film it is rare that even rave reviews from 90% of critics will get me to see the film.

I do think that the ratings are important though, love that fact or hate it I think bad RT scores hurt certain films at the box office.

Only critic I care about in the end is myself. I know what I love and like, and I know what I hate and dislike. In the end my enjoyment is all that matters to me. I know that seems obvious to say.

But sometimes it seems some people cling onto what others scores or reviews are. It's good I suppose for some insight. But some take it a bit too far as if it's gospel and let it affect or cloud their own judgement or opinion.

I can tell from previews like 95% of the time if I am going to like a movie or not. Sure some times I may like a movie more then I thought I would or less then I thought I would but I can only name a few movies that I though I would like and ended up not likely at all. Now If I am 50/50 about a movie then most likely I will only see the movie if it gets a good score or even great score. Really for the most part I only look at reviews to see if I agree with them or not.

You know every time i watch a video on youtube regardless of what type of video it is i have this sinking feeling that there's a troll their in the comments below that'll deliberately post spoilers out of nowhere, without me even expecting it.

Honestly scares the **** outta me. :csad:

I'm a Man of Steel fangirl, believe me I get how uncomfortable it is to like a polarizing film. Still that hasn't stopped me from liking it, rotten tomatoes and fanboys alike have not changed my opinion. Sometimes you like movies that have a Rotten rating, it is what it is.

If TFA gets below a 60% rating (it won't) and I like it, I'm not going to suddenly stop liking it.
