Playstation Ghost Of Tsushima

I played it for about 8 hours in total and I totally love the gameplay but don't really care about the characters.

I'm curious to hear how the stealth could be improved in your opinion, or perhaps an example of a game with superior stealth? Personally my favorite in that category is Last of Us, and I even enjoyed Tsushima to a slightly lesser degree
I felt the same about the characters.

To me, going back to stuff like classic Tenchu and Metal Gear iare a good example. Sekiro handled it better, even as it wasn't the game's main mechanic. Stealth needs to be a legit alternative with obvious benefits, while at the same time legit falling to pieces when it goes wrong. There is no reason to play stealth in Ghost. Ghost overpowers you, allowing you to just drop a smoke bomb once things go badly, and sneak back into stealth, without much hassle. Not that you would though because, you are way overpowered. No real consequence to open battle.

Oooh, that Ikishima is an awesome surprise.
Best game of 2020 and it's getting an expansion nearly one year after launch. I thought they were done after Legends and here we go back to this beautiful world.

This will be my last full price game purchase for the ps4 as I still don't have a ps5. And I don't think I can wait another year to play this.

It was my 2020 game of the year so looking forward to this. Also I almost never play online but this games online mode was really fun. I do wonder if this means no ps5 summer show though.
They probably would show minutes of gameplay footage of the Iki eXpansion sometime neXt month.

I might trade it for Sekiro then. Since I don't care about the story I feel like I've gotten all the mileage out of Tsushima.

One thing I thought they were going to build more upon was the tension/love story between Jin & Yuna in the game.

I would look up Sekiro before making a purchase. It's a very different, much more difficult game. It's one of my favorites, but you have to be into From Soft.

I'm debating ponying up the $30 to upgrade. I wasn't expecting a special edition, I had thought it was just going to be a free PS5 upgrade for owners of the PS4 game but given it's got a bunch of extras I'm not going to complain. The only thing is I'm not going to have the time to replay it anytime soon so I may wait until it's on sale.

I think I might wait for a sale, but I will definitely get it eventually. Usually how I handle non-From Soft DLC.

I really want the directors cut with all of the ps5 upgrades and the new DLC. But I really don't want to pay 70 for a game I already own.

I thought the trailer looked rather exciting, especially the giant snake in the mountains, gave me chills.

The worst part of Tsushima to me is the huge open world. While it's technically impressive, you're forced to do some much of the same horseback riding that it becomes a bit mind-numbing. Sekiro as I understand is a linear journey with more considered level design. To each their own I guess, but to me the latter is more interesting. Usually what makes an open-world design work is a fun traversal mechanic like Spider-man and/or simulation with a lot of freedom to experiment as you please. Unfortunately Ghost has neither of these

$70 full price.
$29.99 upgrade price.

I'll wait until I see how good the expansion is, but I do feel like $30 is a bit much, I feel like $20 would be fair since the biggest draw is the new island and I don't see it being more than a third the length of the base game, but considering that a lot of games charge more money for a lot less in return, I'll deal with it. The Japanese lip sync has me pretty pleased as well, definitely gonna finally get around to NG+ on Lethal mode when this comes out.

It really makes me not to buy games at launch, as these eXpansions / upgrades come at a price. Plus that $70 price tag for ps5 Sony games is only making me wait for a price cut more. Still glad I haven't bought this yet as I would miss out with the eXpansion, as I don't really buy anything from psn and I'm not going to double dip (buying 2 physical copies of a single game). I didn't do that with Spider-Man 2018.

I get what you mean. Ghost of Tsushima is a game that I might have normally waited a little bit to buy (like I did with Horizon: Zero Dawn, for example), but because of the pandemic and a lack of normal everyday activities being suspended due to Covid restrictions, I jumped all over it since I had ample time to play last summer.
