The art in issue 27 was just depressing.
 
Ya, I'm not still not feeling Huat's pencils. #27 was ok only b/c Caretaker died. And that's a shame b/c when he re-appeared in #26 i washopind he'd start to play a large role.
 
You guys really don't like the art? I'm not reading the book, but I very briefly flipped through it, and I thought it was pretty good.
 
I personally don't like the style at all. Too over exaggarated in place, the lack of Johnny's eyes in many panels, the disturbing shap to mouths and teeth that strangly follow the lips, it's just nothing I find good.

I do have to admit, through, the storytelling (outside of the use of Death Ninja and Doghead just to die) has been good the last few issues.
 
If I recall correctly, Aaron said he'd be exploring previous incarnations of the Spirit of Vengeance in future issues, and I was thinking that is might be interesting that they tackle it similar to the way the Immortal Iron Fist was handling it, with single issue stories between arcs. Could prove interesting, break up some of the storytelling, as well as enlighten us to the history Aaron has planned (although personally I'm still skeptical how he plans on connecting everything).

I just became a member and I have to say, this is awesome to be able to talk to Jason Aaron. He replied to both of my posts in 24 hours and I'm sure he wouldn't mind knowing what other GR fans and fans of his work have to say.
 
OK I just picked up issue 27 ( I couldn't wait any longer for my subscription copy to come in...it still hasn't arrived). Interestingly, this issue was sold out at the larger comic shop in my area, and I got the last copy in a smaller comic shop 20 miles away. It was worth it though.

Man what a way to go for the Caretaker. After over a decade of being the patriarch for the Spirits of Vengeance, he ends up being torn to pieces and having his body thrown to the winds of eternity...somehow I don't think he will be making a comeback. :hehe: So its been revealed that Caretaker was double-crossing Zadkiel and working for Heaven, and lying to all the parties. As much as I hate seeing him go, I'm glad he's gone because he hasn't really given anything useful in over a decade.

Zadkiel looks like he's going to be the most ruthless and most powerful Ghost Rider villain, probably surpassing the likes of Zarathos, Centurious, and the Lillith combined. It will be interesting to see how Aaron can wrap up these villains who were all tied with the Medallion of Power saga.

Did anybody else catch the symbolism of Dan Ketch burning his own book in Caretakers library? Is this Aaron's way of saying its time to forget the past and look to othe future?

I gotta give credit where credit is due, I haven't been this excited since the 90s for GR.

I'm upset he's gone b/c he made a kickass comeback in #26 then he was very casually offed in #27. I mean, what the hell man. And then his legacy is passed on to some no-name kung-fu nun :huh:. At least the information Blaze needs has been preserved, but it was still a silly death.

Assuming he even brings in any of those villains. Centurious is dead, so's Lilith if I'm not mistaken, and Zarathos...can't remember what happened to him. Though Z's name was mentioned in #27, so he may be showing up though. No argument about Zadkiel being all-powerful though.

I didn't see that way at first, but now that you mention it I can see it. I guess that's not a bad thing b/c it means Aaron wants to take the comic in a new direction which, given what he's done so far with it, is a great thing.

Me:I don’t know if this has been answered yet but I was wondering if you were going to try to incorporate Mr. Eleven into any future story lines. The character was really cool but since Way left it seems he might just be left blowin’ in the wind.

Jason Aaron: I don't have plans for Mr. Eleven just yet, but I believe he will be popping up in the new Danny Ketch mini-series that the great Simon Spurrier is writing.

Now it might have been stated in the summary's but i can't wait to see this mini series!

Silly, but extremely brutal death.

Lilith never died...she revisited Zarathos' statue at the end of the Siege of Darkness saga with ominous news of having Zarathos's child.

I always thought Mr Eleven would be a one hit wonder buts its nice to know he's going to make another appearance and we'l actually get to know WHAT exactly this character does.
 
Hey guys, been a long time! In fact, I was surprised to see the Ghost Rider board had disappeared, lol. I'm finally back doing regular updates for Vengeance Unbound with almost 30 new reviews posted this past week (including one for the newest issue, # 27). I'm also set to do an interview for the site with Jason Aaron, just waiting for him to get back to me with the answers to my set of questions!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you're doing well too. I'm gonna go to your site and read some reviews right now. BTW, Marvel has this strange Pyschological profile of Danny Ketch on their front page. Let me know what you think.

Huh, I have to admit, the Psych Profile thing was pretty interesting to read. I'm glad to see all the support Marvel's been giving Ghost Rider recently, especially when it gives cool little features like that article.

Vengeance Unbound has its first update for October (so it's a day early, sue me, lol) with something really special: an interview with legendary Ghost Rider artist Javier Saltares! Thanks to Jarv for putting up with my questions and being the over-all cool guy that is. Hope the rest of you enjoy reading the interview as much as I did giving it!
 
I really liked that psych ward article. It made me see Noble Kale in a different light for the first time, now seeing him as the destructive being he was to Danny. I hope Jason Aaron really takes advantage of crazy Danny and even in this mini coming up!!

Nice interview Ixnay!

I bought the collectors ediction of the HBO animated Series, Spawn, and in it, Todd McFarlane admits that he had something to do with Jarv getting fired from Marvel because he was trying to push artists and writers to get more control and money from their creations. Can you confirm this Jarv? Do you and Todd still communicate?
