Ghost Rider vs GR: Spirit of Vengeance

^ I think SOV is going to get slightly better refuses that the first film, I think the action scenes and the improved effects are going to give it a slight edge.

I also think the critics are going to be impresses with Elba's performance and pretty satisfied with the rest of the actors.

^Well I hope thats the case, I actually liked the first movie somewhat so if this improves on that I will be a happy man. Hopefully we get some proper reviews soon, if they withhold them until the last minute I am going to get worried as that doesnt usually bode well for movies.

Yeah I liked the first film a bit as well, as long as this film is an improvement I will be pretty satisfied.

I think the fast paced style of the film is going to be a big help, I can't wait to see the action scenes unfold within the context of the film.

^Same here, I hope it is an improvement, I am just not a fan of the directors though, never liked one of their movies so we'll see.

I liked Crank and Crank 2 was ok (albeit a bit weird), I still haven't seen Gamer but from what I've seen I think their shooting style is perfect for a Ghost Rider film.

^Crank was only okay to me and that has been their best movie, Crank 2 I didnt like at all and Gamer was average at best. I hope SOV is their best movie to date.

Yeah I see what you're saying, but you gotta admit their fast pace style does lend itself well to Ghost Rider from what we've seen so far.

Well, based on the trailers so far it does, but it could be different in the movie itself.

The trailers for all of their movies have looked good though, and I havent really enjoyed any of them so far.

I hope this film atleast live up to the expections that it's trailers set, if not entirely surpassing them.

^Same, its just those early reviews we got that makes me think this will be a bit of a stinker, but we'll see.

That's why I can't wait to see the film for myself so I can have my own personally opinion on the film.

Well I personally tend to agree with most reviews, especially with those from Empire and Total Film so see what they say, though there are exceptions to that as well.

The press screenings, at least here in St. Louis, aren't until Thursday night, so yeah, last minute.

The best part of SOV is that MSJ wasn't near a camera or the directors chair.

Which makes me think we wont be getting good reviews, as this is usually a trick studio's pull when they know they have a bad movie.

^ That's no suprise I could've told you this film wasn't going to get good reviews, I'd be satisfied with anything above 35% on Rotten Tomatoes at this point (even those numbers would be a stretch).

^I do actually want a good movie though, action scene's are great and all but if everything around them is worthless I can never get into them, X3 is a prime example.

Agreed, in this film it seems like Ghost Rider no "holds barred" while the first film was like Ghost Rider-lite.

I didn't hate the first Ghost Rider movie; I know a lot of other fans of the comic book didn't really care for it. All this being said, I am looking forward to a superior sequel. Now is not the time to phone it in, but to make an outstanding sequel to keep this franchise alive. Don't give this franchise the same fate that The Fantastic Four has experienced.

Well you're in for a disappointed because this is NOT going to be a good film, just about everyone knows that by now.

One thing is for sure, it can't be worse than the first GR film.

It won't be, because it has three elements that the first film was sorely lacking and those elements are...

- Badassery

- Great action

- Fun

Well then yes I will be dissapointed, I will still see it to make up my own mind but I wanted a good film as well as cool action, etc.

Yeah that's what we all wanted, but I'm sure I'll be able to enjoy it for what it is.

Most comic book fans I dont think could even embrace a movie like this even if it is good. Ghost Rider SOV looks like it just might be a fun ride and sure maybe is not deep but theres nothing wrong with that.
