GL trailer

What do you hope to see in the trailer and when do you think it will come out? I say it comes out with Tron.

Your thoughts..

Can't wait for the 2nd GL trailer which should be popping up in March with Sucker Punch or maybe sooner online.

Lets hope it is an improvement over the 1st one, which I'm sure it will be.

All I ask for this 2nd GL trailer is to have the trailer start off with mystery and maybe a voice over from Abin Sur, Sinestro or one of the Guardians.

EPIC music needs to be used and I don't want to hear ANY kind of rock music.

I also want the 2nd trailer to focus more on Oa and the world of the Green Lantern Universe and show more action.

I want scenes on Earth to be minimal and I don't want to see as much light hearted or comedic scenes as we saw in the 1st Trailer.

The trailer needs to focus on the space mystery and awe of what the Green Lantern Universe is all about and show some power ring effects, with action and some dramatic emotion!

Yeah rock music is a respectable genre of music, but it just doesn't fit "Green Lantern"

I think that the reason the first trailer was lacking was because the special effects that would have been the most effective for demonstrating Green Lantern's powers weren't finished in time. There were tons of special effects in the trailer, but they weren't the ones that will make people go "Oh, that's a cool idea for a superhero!" It was things like Hal's suit, Oa, aliens, space footage, etc. We only saw maybe 2 constructs in the trailer tops, and they were pretty generic looking ones like the obligatory giant fist and a wall. That doesn't give people a lot of incentive to see the movie, because they don't even understand what the character's power is.

Hopefully, with the second trailer they will really amp things up to 11, especially regarding showing people what Hal's powers are. They don't need to show every single construct that shows up in the movie (they need to hold back just enough to keep the movie exciting, obviously), but I wager that when people see just how limitless the potential of the ring is, their minds will really be opened up to the movie.

Trailer 1 was a pretty generic action movie trailer with some fancy special effects. It told us almost nothing about the character, and if not for Hal's costume you might even miss the fact that it's a superhero movie. I really hope that trailer 2 blows people away and unleashes everything that we know makes the Green Lantern awesome. Like Thor, Green Lantern is one of those movies that is hard to impress people with before the effects are in place, especially since seemingly every other shot will have effects in it. Thor's first trailer was kind of like "umm... WTF did I just see? And why should I care?" wheras trailer 2 was like "ZOMG DID U C WUT HE JUST DID? HE SMASHED THAT THING'S FACE IN WITH A BIG HAMMER!" I hope that Green Lantern's second trailer has a similar effect.

That's true; it showed a lot of Hal's world before and after the Corps, but you didn't get to see Hal's powers and what he can do (besides flying around and do one construct punch)

I want to hear the main theme. I'm not sure if the theme that was played at the Scream Awards was the official theme, but it was amazing...Other than that I'd like to see improvement in the graphics and more detail of the uniforms.

Hope the main theme is hummable. Warner Bros major superhero films seem to be on the right track though.

The Nolan Batman theme is very memorable. Brrrrrmmmmmm Brrrmmmmmmm!

When I went to see Unknown this past weekend the trailer didn't seem to get a worst or better recpetion than the First Class and Thor trailer. I personally still mostly like the trailer.

Heard the trailer might be with Battle for Los Angeles, anyone else hear that? Going to see that movie anyways. :D

Somewhat random post, but I have to get this out there.

I want this movie to be awesome as much as I want most things in my real life to work out.

I want this to be a template for non-Batman/Superman DC characters to excel and rock as big screen characters. I want this to be an epic comic superhero/sci-fi blockbuster that exceeds everyones expectations.

But I'm concerned.

I have faith in DCE, to a certain extent. I think they hit a homerun with Bale/Nolan. I enjoyed Superman Returns more than just about anyone, and think it was a great film with too many people to prove. I think that Snyder and the Nolans are well on their way to producing an even better Superman film than they did with SR.

But this is an entirely different arena, with outcomes that effect everything in the DCU. The success of this movie affects Wonder Woman, Flash, and every other DC property. This is an experiment that will have ramifications well beyond its obvious intentions.

Martin Campbell has been awesome in the past. I enjoy both of his Bond movies. But I sincerely hope that the thought put into his past endeavors and the thought put into previous DC films is clear in this attempt.

We need a serious film, with a serious, intense interpretation with epic scope that dwarfs what we saw in the first trailer.

I'm not going to kill Ryan Reynolds, but I'm not coming out to see an obvious Ryan Reynolds action "flick" in June. I want to see Green Lantern. I really hope by faith is answered.

First of all, not all CBM's have to be serious to be great (Spider-Man anyone? Iron Man anyone?) so I don't think we necessarily need a serious film, nor do we need to follow in the footsteps of a Christopher Nolan/Zack Snyder to have a successful franchise. There is just this certain group of fans that just claim to like their films to be dark, but yet in the same breath will tolerate the humor of a Rober Downey Jr, a Tobey MacGuire, or even a Hugh Jackman, which were in some great CBM's. Why the heck did they call this a "comic" book movie in the first place? This film is going to do a lot better than most of you think and will be a franchise that may even outlive that of its predecessors.

I just have a really good feeling about the GL film. It's been the one I've been most excited for from the get-go. The fact that WB/DC has green-lit a sequel to it way before it has come out has to mean they have faith it'll do good, right? I hope so.

Epic Sci-fi/Fantasy Superhero film is what this needs to be. The fact that it's based on Secret Origin has me really excited, as it's my favorite GL graphic novel I've read. :D

^^^ Same here

My anticipation for GL's second trailer is through the roof right now, hopefully it's released within the next two weeks.

yay! trailer this week?!

it'll probly come out saturday to torture us lol

To quote Troll 2

I don't know if I'd characterize Spider-Man or Iron Man as not being serious. They have humor, but aren't total goofball movies.

I'm really looking forward to the next trailer, and hope it rocks.
