Saw this pic when I was searching for images of Norman Osborn on Yahoo. Looks like he was hiding it behind his back. How he got it behind his back in the first place...Maybe he pulled it out of his ass?

nice find, i wish they would add that scene to the movie...i hope they sell the trilogy someday with extended versions of each movie.

That picture was in the Making Of book.

I think it said it came from his Glider. You can tell he's holding it behind his back in the movie if you look.

Well, not during the entire fight he isn't.

I hated that stupid trident. :cmad: Not only is it a dumb weapon for a soldier to have, and the fact that the comic GG never had a trident, it just appeared out of nowhere in that scene. Bah.

Good question...where did it come from? I've never figured it out (was too busy enjoying the movie to really notice, though).

Yeah but who says the mask and pumpkin bombs and trident were designed for soldiers and the Oscorp contract with the government? I just assumed that the glider and formula were for soldiers and Norman made the mask and weapons for his personal gain. Remember all the masks at Norman's house? That was his thing.

The glider and syrum were for the Oscorp contract with the government and not the trident, mask and pumpkin bombs. We never saw the trident mask or bombs at Oscorp, only the glider and syrum. At the World Unity Festival when the board members see the Goblin coming, he says, "that's our glider", not that's our glider and mask.

Actually, he said "That's a glider".

Also, do you really think he got a proper view of the mask from that distance?? And even if he did, why didn't he mention the flight suit?? Norman was wearing the same one they had in the lab.

No he says "that's OUR glider". Also, they were looking through binoculars, so they would have seen the mask. I see your point about mentioning the suit but the suit isn't quite as striking as the mask though, so they might not have mentioned it.

There was never a mask, pumpkin bombs or trident in the lab, was there? The only weapons made for the government were on the glider, and of course the syrum. The other goblin wepons were made soley for Osborne's alter ego and his vendettas.

You're correct. I just checked it with the english subtitles on.

My apologies.

Not that I saw. But there was the green flight suit. Which makes me ask, why didn't he say that's our flight suit and glider??

No need to apologize. No big deal.

Let's assume the mask and suit were made for the Oscorp contract with the govt, the thread was about the trident. In my opinion, the pumkin bombs and trident were simply made by Norman for his evil doings and not for the contract. My whole point was simply to refute a post that questioned why a trident would have been made for a soldier.

It was probably on the glider.

That is what I always assumed.

The funny thing is not where did he pulled the spear/trident from(which we know is from the glider) but when during the fight did he pull it from the glider. Ask raimi, his explanation will be, Oh you don't see it because it was offscreen off camera.

When Unobtanium Ltd made the lifesized prop replicas of the trident after the first film, they had set photos of the GG and the trident attached to his back while flying. That was the original concept.

Here is some info about them. They made the trident and pumkin bomb. No set pics of it on his back though. The original idea was to make the trident more prominent in the film. That's why a replica was made.

It's probably better seen on a widescreen edition. I'm assuming this though.

That would include the bombs as they were, indeed, PART of the glider. I believe the novel mentioned that the trident also was attached to the glider - I'm assuming some sort of close combat weapon.

I can't believe they used that costume...

In terms of plot, a sharp piece of wood or a metal girder might have sufficed, so I wonder what the origin of the hitherto-never-seen-before trident was.......

Funny how in both movies, Goblin and Oct. both hide a weapon that can impale Spidey behind their back.

I remember Laura Ziskin said in some interview somewhere that one day during filming Sam Raimi randomly came in one morning and said he wanted the Goblin to have a trident. I'm not ****ting you. I'm sure someone could find it somewhere. So there's your explanation for you.

Some of the final fight was cut out for simply being too brutal. So I'll wager we would have seen the Goblin produce the trident from his glider/armour/ass in that part.
