Gods & Men: The Ancient Myths RPG: SEASON I
Application
Screen Name:
trustyside-kick
Character you have created (include known alias or nicknames here as well):
Centirius
Race/Culture (What race is your character, and, if human, what culture does your character hail from, for example is your character Roman, Athenian, Celtic, Norse, Spartan, Persian, etc) (GMs must approve of any race not part of the big 5: Human, Elf, Dwarf, Halfling, and Orc):
Lycanthrope. Specifically, he can transform into any type of animal in the Bear Family.
Racial Traits (traits specific to your race; a list can be found in the second post of the OOC thread) (For races not listed, GMs must create traits for that race first before player approval):
Alternate Form (As an act of will, the lycanthrope may change it's form to that of a animal or a human/animal hybrid. This ability can be used whenever the lycanthrope desires and the lycanthrope retains it's normal intelligence in all forms); Low-Light Vision (able to see twice as far as a human can in torchlight, starlight, moonlight and similar poorly lit conditions and is able to distinguish color and detail. Only available in animal or hybrid form); Scent (The sense of smell of lycanthropes are much more attuned than that of a human. As such they are able to distinguish between specific scents in the immediate area and smells traveling down wind. They may also track others via their sense of smell. This ability is only available in animal or hybrid form); Nature Sense (Werebears are creatures of the wilds, living a life in tune with nature. As such, they have a vast knowledge of local flora and fauna in their homelands. Even in foreign lands, werebears can usually tell if a plant is edible or not, or if it might have other properties by the smell, taste, look, or feel of it); Curse of Lycanthropy (A lycanthrope may pass it's affliction onto others with a simple bite. When a lycanthrope bites a normal human, there is a chance of the disease getting passed on to the victim); Average life span is same as the base race.
Character Class (Somewhat similar to the classes in the CAH RPG, but with some differences) (Choose One):
Mystic. But to be specific he is a Druid.
Magic (if your character is a Mystic, choose from the following schools of magic to specialize in. NOTE: A player will only be able to cast spells that deal with their schools, forsaking all others, so choose carefully. A mystic gets 4 points to spend in deciding their skill level in magic: 1 point equals minor skills in the chosen school, 2 points equal moderate skill, and 4 equals mastery in the school of choice. Paladins receive 1 point, and it must go towards Protection; Spellswords get only 1 point, and can choose any school to specialize in; Minstrels get 2 points and at least one must go towards Enchantment):
4 Points in Druidic Magic
Speech Color and/or Font (actually say what you're using, i.e. Arial Black; don't go "Like this", or what not):
Bold Sea Green Palatino Linotype Size 3
Character Alignment (Good/Evil/Neutral):
Neutral. All that matters to him is the state of Nature.
Character Personality (Give information on how your character acts, what he/she believes in, how they handle situations):
Extremely friendly. He is only hostile should one be planning or causing harm to Nature.
Origin Info/Details (don't be blunt, be as thorough as possible):
There was said to be an ancient group of Lycanthrope nomads; a group of mystics who bathed in their knowledge of the art of Druidism; they breathed every word of it. They hold nature very dear, and did anything for the sake of its survival. The Legend goes that they hide in the distance forests and other terrains of the globe, each area with its own Guardian. Centirius is one of these so called Guardians. He watches over the forests, intervening when it needs him most from those who would seek to harm it, disguised as a bear most of the time.
Attributes (Select one from each category):
Strength:
Same as base race (same as animal in animal form; much stronger in hybrid form)
Speed/Reaction Time:
Same as base race (same as animal in animal form; faster in hybrid form)
Endurance/Durability:
Same as base race (same as animal in animal form; more durable in hybrid form)
Agility:
Same as base race (same as animal in animal form; same as an average man in hybrid form)
Intelligence:
Genius
Fighting Skill (Due to their devotion to their arts, Mystics and Psions cannot be Experts or Masters):
I'd say Expert...but apparently he cannot be so I guess Trained? I'm confused here, because what if you have one of the schools of magic with 4 points?
Resources:
Minimal
Notable Equipment:
None
Weaknesses (If your character has any specific weakness, such as a vampire's weakness to sunlight (among other things) or a Faerie's weakness to iron, list them here):
Same weakness and frailty of any human when not in a sort of Bear Form. When transformed, as any Lycanthrope, he is extremely vulnerable/allergic to Silver.
Supporting Characters (Does your character have a significant other? A mother? A Friend? Who are they, what do they have to do with your character?):
None. Unless you count Nature. Not to say he will not interact, but he has no tied NPCs at the moment.
Describe using proper English grammar what you think you can bring to the RPG:
A character not yet seen in the RPG. The players in this RPG have done a good job making each of their characters different, rather than seeing the same types created. I wish to continue that trend.
How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG:
As much as is needed. I will not hinder a multi-player arc, that is for sure.
Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards:
Yes.
Sample Post (Minimum Four decent-sized paragraphs containing dialogue):
A group of men, getting wood for their village to start the large bonfire tonight to celebrate a special occasion, start to converse and make small talk when one finds a peculiar piece of wood.
"Say, look at this one!"
One of the men bring back to the group a piece of wood, carved into a small bear cub, sitting on a leaf.
"Found a little time on your hands, did you Thomas?"
"What? No. No! I found it further into the woods, I swear it! Such craftmanship! It's so smooth and--"
"Probably some beggar, who got lost in the woods trying to find some berries."
Thomas looks at the carved piece of wood again, admiring the detail and smoothness of it. He looks over at the other men, who continue hacking away at the tree barks for more wood to add to the bonfire pile, and an idea comes across his mind.
"What if it one of those elves, eh?"
"An elf?"
"Sure! They...they're woodland folk!"
"Here? In Splintershire? I highly doubt it Thomas."
One of the other men, distracted by the conversation intervenes.
"What if it one of those nomads. You know, those woodland folk? There's talk about a Guardian that roams these lands, hiding away in the forests."
"Oh really now? And where could one find such a Guardian? Does he just walk straight up to you and
tell you he is the woodland Guardian and bid you good tidings? Honestly, Edgar, what rubbish!"
"I heard of 'em too. Only, I heard it was a bear. A
great,
big, enormous bear! A white bear at that!"
"A white bear? What, like a polar bear? Please Eric, this is a forest! Why in the blazes would a polar bear be here. Tis not even cold! Now get your heads together, and start actually
using those axes in your hands, and help us get the wood ready! And Thomas? Toss aside that damn little trinket. Get back to work!"
"...Aye."
Thomas walks back over to the spot he was cutting down wood, and gently places down the carved bear cub sitting on a leaf. When he looks ahead, he sees a bear; a white one. He gasps in shock, and looks back at the other men; they do not seem to notice it. When he looks back ahead, the white bear is gone.
