Attack? he is just moving through and wreaking havoc. :woot: Like a human stepping on an anthill.

The clip is called "Attack at the Pacific Ocean Scene", but it doesn't say Godzilla is the one that's attacking. I thought he was going to blow right through that battleship, but....he stops and looks like he's trying to navigate through them. None of the ships look like they were damaged.

yeah.....noticed that, too.

Interesting that poster saying it starts strong then goes downhill. Alot of twitter reactions last night said the 3rd act was fantastic.

Holy crap! Is it just me....or did Godzilla not only seemingly try to avoid hitting the battleships, but he just saved a school bus full of children from their friendly fire?

No, he did not. He's not trying to save anyone. Those missiles were fired from a great distance, more than enough time to course correct and nail Godzilla. It's just a cool visual.

Different opinions and such... :whatever:

However, the final battle IS good, but it doesn't save the movie. TASM2 had good action and it was still crap. Same with the Transformers movies...

So is Godzilla crap or just disappointing? Is it a bad film or just good but could have been better?

Not sure what's up with the rolling eyes man. I was just offering other viewpoints. Not saying your wrong, I don't see it till Monday. Just stating I read 3 critic reactions saying the 3rd act was the strongest part of the film.

Very much looking forward to this. I'm absolutely sure that even if it's nowhere near perfect (what movie is, anyway?) it'll most certainly put the '98 disaster to shame. Plus, Godzilla looks nothing short of amazing.

Must. See. It.

I'm really looking forward to this movie, but everytime I see this rebuttal, I cringe.

If this doesn't make enough to greenlight a sequel I'm going to be very very sad.

Me too. It would be interesting to see how the nations respond to the presence of something like Godzilla. Ditto for the pro/anti Godzilla activists. So much potential.

The only opinion of this movie I care about is my own. Whoever says it's good or bad I don't care until I see it for myself.

Heard it's a slow reveal. Exactly what I didn't want. I'm still excited but that sucks. I'm so sick of being teased in movies. It's a Godzilla movie, give me Godzilla.

:whatever: Statements like that are exactly why I DON'T like living in an ADHD film world.

You're entitled to that opinion, but I do find it a little baffling. How exactly are you sick of it considering every modern blockbuster doesn't tease?

I'd prefer a slow reveal, build it up and then let it all go in the third act.

Zod forbid a modern blockbuster does something that films like JURASSIC PARK, ALIEN, PREDATOR, JAWS, and even the original 1954 Godzilla did so well.

I'd prefer a slow reveal, build it up and then let it all go in the third act.

If reactions are to be believed, that's exactly what happens.

A Godzilla movie is a lot like making love. You gotta save your best for the end. If you go all out at the start then everybody's disappointed.

Every modern blockbuster is a tease? I'm not seeing that. Got great looks at Jaegers early on in Pacific Rim. They've already given away the full design of Godzilla in a Fiat commercial so I don't see the need for an hour+ long reveal in his own movie.

Edit: So everyones fine with getting a quarter length of Godzilla in this? OK.

He's saying every modern blockbuster isn't a tease. In general.

Excuse me for wanting Godzilla to have a large role in a Godzilla movie.

Considering that a lot of the best monster films of all time hold off on showing you the title monster i don't see any problem on waiting for Godzilla. It wouldn't be the first time. As long as they stick the landing i see no problem in it.

How long was it before the alien and predator were revealed in their original films. The dinos don't attack until a little over an hour into Jursssic Park. We have to get to the island before we see King Kong. Slow burn can be really awesome when executed well.

Currently watching Godzilla 2000. It's a lot better than I remembered it to be. The human characters are kinda fun..
