That was one thing the movie did get right.
Did you even watch the movie?

Reiterated from my review, I have one question about the plot:At the end, when the larger female Muto is closing in on the nuclear weapon, Godzilla comes and kills the larger muto. But we had just seen Godzilla collapse unconsciously below an office tower he destroyed, and in the next day Godzilla wakes up below that rubble, half of San Francisco removed from the docks. So, was it a separate Godzilla who killed the larger muto? I don't know, I think so.
I was confused by this editing as well, and didn't even factor in that it could be another godzilla. I don't think it is though. I'm thinking he just mustered up the strength to get to the muto to kill it, and the next day I figured he was where he was because of the bomb going off

Godzilla presumably got up to go kill the female MUTO, then was shown collapsing again in the distance afterwards from Ford's POV. That's where everybody finds Godzilla the next day.
So he went back halfway across San Francisco to the same skyscraper and lifted all the rubble and covered himself with it?
So good. The kid inside me was doing cartwheels... and I ****ing hated doing cartwheels.I still can't get over that shot of Godzillabreathing his radioactive breath down that MUTO's throat

I figured he either started walking back towards the city or the force from the bomb knocked him over there, not necessarily in the same exact spot he was before. Was it the exact same spot/skyscraper where he was before? I don't get how the bomb they were using supposedly made the 1954 one seem like a "firecracker". It didn't seem like it made it that far out in the ocean before detonating. Wouldn't it have taken out pretty much everyone plus the helicopter ford was in?
BOX OFFICE: Godzilla Crushes It: $98M+
The Lizard is leaping. After the morning dust has cleared, Godzilla showed a stronger than expected Friday late night take of $38M+ and is now estimated to haul in $98M+ after the three-day weekend. And with incredible international numbers continuing to roll in, Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures has a monstrous hit on their hands. Late night numbers pushed it past $36M and surprised everyone this AM.
I got back from this last night and honestly I'm not even sure if it was better than Godzilla 98.

I never thought Godzilla would have such a massive opening weekend. I guess that's what a great marketing campaign can do for a film.

The people are ready for more. I'm astonished it took as long as it did for another Godzilla movie to come out...I mean it's like 15 years?

Good point. If nothing else, that's the silver lining. Then again...a recent sequel turned out to be a complete fiasco, so who knows?Godzilla 2 doesn't have to accomplish much to be better than this movie, so let's hope for the best.
