GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY! :wow::wow::wow:

He's ****ing beast.

Gareth Edwards shares his Spotify playlist that gave him inspiration to create a new Godzilla.
"This is the (heavily reduced) playlist I used to inspire me for Godzilla. I used to walk around London late at night, in-between Skype and calls with LA, looking up at the buildings and trying to give myself goosebumps picturing sequences. As you’ll see, Alexandre Desplat gets a high score, so it was a dream come true when he agreed to compose music for the movie.

We finally got the Giant Size Godzilla! $40, not bad

"One of their goals was to bring Godzilla's roar into the real world, so the sound designers set up a 12-foot-high, boulevard-wide sound system on a street on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank. Blasting the roar through 100,000-watt speakers lined in an array, they recorded the reverberations from a number of angles, such as inside cars, behind store windows, in alleyways. It not only rattled pipes and rooftops but could be heard up to three miles away."

Like his human co-stars, Godzilla’s soul is etched in his face. While the new incarnation hews closely to the dimensions of his short, steep skull, broad snout and carnivore’s mouth, to imbue it with a full range of expression in battle, the filmmakers studied the faces of dogs and bears, while also incorporating the nobility of an eagle.
To direct the character on the subtleties of performance, Edwards had a powerful assist from Rygiel’s “The Lord of the Rings” collaborator, performance capture pioneer Andy Serkis, who has brought his unique art form to digital characters like Gollum, Caesar and King Kong, and helped shape the title character’s emotional arc.
“At the start of the process, I felt that in some way we could decide and control who Godzilla was,” Edwards reflects, “but, as we went along, we started to realize that Godzilla was going to tell us who he was, just like actors who have their own take on their characters. We couldn’t totally dictate what it was going to be; it was more about just trying different ideas and permutations. And, slowly, he revealed himself to us."

Awesome! I wish I could have been there to experience it.

The last shot was serious trolling, lol:woot:

The last shot in the trailer was the last shot from the wondercon footage that leaked. And it showed a bit more in the wondercon footage and it's ****ing awesome.

So that's that, you have your first Godzilla cake which comes with a nice Godzilla cake toy that looks to have glowing blue atomic breath effect.

And you have the full-on Godzilla cake, which will you choose? :cwink:

You know, since I'm such a huge Godzilla fanatic it doesn't matter which cake it is as long as it has Godzilla on it.

Anyways, I scored two posters at the local Wal-Mart today. I just need to find some poster frames for them so I can hang them on my wall.

I wouldn't want to see a Pacific Rim/Godzilla cross-over.

But the idea of humanity pooling resources to make counter measures like giant mechs to fight these giant monsters is a good one that i think could be used in sequels.

I enjoyed PR and the concept was fantastic, even if i readily accept the execution didn't live up to that concept in some regards. But was it a financial failure? It cost about 200 million and grossed over 400 million. It doubled it's production budget at least.

I don't think we need a Pacific Rim/Godzilla crossover. If we're going to be doing a Godzilla crossover with anyone, I'd prefer we get a crossover Godzilla vs Gamera movie. Who wouldn't want to see that movie! Otherwise, let's stick to the monsters we got for now!

Yeah, I don't really care for a Godzilla/PR crossover. Godzilla vs Gamera though...

See I really don't know how it can be said it didn't follow through on the Monster vs Mechs concept. Complaints about the characters and dialogue I get, but damn a full 20 minutes of the film are devoted to one fight alone.

As far as money goes, the real problem isn't how little it made (though it was far less than was hoped) but rather where it made is money. Due to the way the finances and distribution were split, while the film found an audience outside of the United States, none of that money actually went to Legendary, who flipped almost the entire bill for the production, but rather to WB who distributed it and didn't really bother to do much marketing. WB actually did quite well for themselves. Legendary took a major hit.
