Meh, dog moment is balanced out by the crowd being hit my the wave, even if not graphically depicting them dying.

That poor dog.

Doesn't change the fact that it was highly reminiscent of another dog scene.

Yeah that dog is gone! You just dont see it but I agree as soon as I saw the dog I was like oh good please dont turn into typical dog saved at last minute.

Also the way the Muto was revealed was very reminiscent of Edwards' Monsters.

The second half of the Wondercon footage was awesome!

But the first half kinda left me worried. The dog reminded me of the dog scene in Emmerich's Independence Day....

Really like the footage. I like that most of it is from a human perspective until the end, where it shifts.

Just seems like such an odd choice, to use that name and not incorporate SOMETHING noteworthy about the original version.

Not really odd at all, the choice is either a homage to the character or this is a relative of the scientist. Either way it's a nod towards the original's material, plus it's something for us fans to geek over
