Given that Godzilla appears to look his normal self in what shots we have of his third act rematch with KG, my question is that this is an injured Godzilla after he gets hit with the oxygen destroyer in the second act. The look is veryy similar to the melting down Godzilla from Godzilla vs Destroyah, which I don't think they would use for mutated/powered up Godzilla. I think it is more evocative of a weakened, injured Godzilla as a result.

Mabey this was a previous Godzilla that fought a previous Mothra. Hence the temple. That or Godzilla gets bashed up and eventually heals from this

The movie has been leaked for a bit now, the multiple sources made claims about scenes in the movie that ended up turning up in the most recent trailer, so they are real leaks..

As far as this..well, that's not how it happens.

(Big spoilers, dont read if you do not want to have the climax spoiled! 95% confident in these leaks)

Its a HUGE spoiler and plot point.

Godzilla is supercharged from a nuke, (we see this as he runs at ghidorah in the trailer). However, it still isnt enough. Mothra is fighting Rodan, dispatching him. Mothra sacrifices herself for Godzilla, and her ashes/essense pours over Godzilla, resulting in this amped burning Godzilla. So what we see is a nuked up Godzilla, powered up by Mothra's life essense. Final battle.
