Is it just me or can you guys also see Gigan's head in this Rodan cave painting?? Doesn't it legit look like Gigan's head??

I don't know, but I wouldn't rule out easter eggs of the like in the movie and the promotionals. Who knows what they have under their sleeves?

Not feeling the glowing back scales on Godzilla. Looks too cartoony.

Could it be that that scales are glowing as some sort of mode of communication between Godzilla and the humans?? This scene is very intriguing in that regard since we know that Monarch is already using bio-acoustics to establish communications with Kaiju's/Titans. So what exactly is happening in this scene??

I think that scene might be the very first we see of Godzilla in the movie.

Unless we get a prologue with him in ancient times.

The reception of the trailer has been fantastic. It's been kicking a$$ and curb stomping the other trailers out of SDCC.

https://variety.com/2018/film/news/comic-con-2018-best-trailers-1202881487/ It has close to 56% of the total votes. That's awesome and very well deserved.
Not surprised, it's an amazing trailer.

The trailer definitely confirmed a lot of that. If that last bit is true then...

Godzilla vs King Kong is not strictly going to be about their fight. Destroyah is going to be final villain of the series.
Was anyone expecting it to be? Kong and Godzilla are both good guys... sort of. They need a final boss to team up against, and it has to be someone even more dangerous than Ghidorah. Isn't Destroyah stronger than KG? I'm honestly not familiar with him. The Godzilla Wiki says he is, lol.

I'm not the biggest fan of kaiju movies. Watched the Toho films when I was younger, was bored by Pacific Rim, loved Godzilla 2014 and liked Kong Skull Island... but that trailer is easily the best of SDCC for me. Nothing else made me smile and get excited as much as seeing all of those monsters from my childhood finally turned into live action.

Destroyah is fairly significant to the mythos. He fought Godzilla at his most OP and still managed to give him a hard time, he's arguably the most evil villain in the series.

I see, thanks.

I looked him up on Google and holy crap, he does look like a freaking nightmare. But the real nightmare will be giving him a "gritty" redesign... I'm pretty sure the guy has, like, feet instead of knees. That's weird.

I like to think Destroyah as the Bane/Doomsday of Godzilla's rogue's gallery, to Ghidorah's Joker/Lex Luthor.

But if they eventually use Destroyah, doesn't that mean Godzilla is gonna start burning to his doom?

Hope we get an American Mechagodzilla movie before it comes to that.

Introducing Destroyah doesn't necessarily mean they have to redo every element from the 1995 movie.

Destroyah would be cool but hopefully they refer to him in some other way because his name sounds like a bad metal band from the 80s. The kind that would show up on an episode of Beavis and Butthead.

The second half of his name sounds exactly like the Italian word for "wh*re". No one here will take him seriously. :hehe:

Well, I was going to suggest just referring to him with the Japanese word for "destroyer" but then I looked up that word (Kuchiku-kan) and found that it has already been taken.

By THIS character! :funny:

LOL

Also, I was rewatching Godzilla (2014) last night and it finally dawned on me why I didn't care for the designs of the MUTOs. They look like friggin' origami monsters! Godzilla, prepare to face your greatest threat yet... GIANT, FOLDED PIECES OF PAPER!

Thank God he has some real enemies in this movie.

Eh... They were just a strange design. Less origami and more like living geometric shapes.
