Godzilla vs Kong (2021)

I feel fortunate that I've been able to see every Godzilla movie released in theaters here in the States dating all the way back to Godzilla 1985. Shin Godzilla was amazing to see on the big screen.

Japanese trailer with some new shots and a potential spoiler revelation.

Serizawa's son is the one who builds MechaGodzilla?

So, Shun Oguri is playing Ken Watanabe's son?
Interesting! There is more footage of him here than the US trailer. I am happy!

As a fan of his since drama Hana Yori Dango (Boys over Flower) in 2005, I am looking forward to his performance here. Hope he got enough good of screentime. And i am curious to see how good his English is (because different from Ken Watanabe who is fluent in English, Oguri never play a role in which he speak English as this is his Hollywood debut).

And finally a release date...it premiers on 14 May here!
Can't wait!

I dislike the 1976 version. It strips the fantasy away from King Kong which is a huge part of its charm. I am slightly curious of this extended cut, but I’ll wait to stream it.

I'm a grown ass man and just the look of 76' King Kong still scares me.

I don't know how many of you been, but the Kongfrontation ride that used to be at Universal Studios gave me a panic attack because of that movie lol.

I have always enjoyed King Kong 76, but it has its problems. The man in a suit approach actually looked great for Kong in that movie and I really like the cast. Skull Island itself was pretty lackluster though and I always hated the fact that we only see him get to fight a giant, rubbery snake lol.

You can analyze the hell out of that scene as an adult. One minute he’s got Jessica Lange in his palm getting excited with her and the next scene he’s beating his snake.

Clever bastards lol.

Dude, the looks he is giving her in those scenes were both creepy and hilarious. My wife walked in on me watching it on HBO Max about 20 mins in and she finished the movie with me and the baby. Her creeped out expressions made it such an enjoyable experience!

I remember that 70 king was supposed to fight Godzilla. I also remember seeing a vhs box with 85 Godzilla and 70s kong on it . But it was just the 60s movie. Don’t know why they did that

Same reason Godzilla films were often retitled and put on VHS many times over: fool you into buying it.

I do wish 70s Kong and Heisei Godzilla had fought like they wanted. But that said, Godzilla vs Kong Ghidorah, which they ended up doing instead, is one of my faves of the Heisei era.
