Godzilla vs Kong (2021)

I can’t go in much details on that. I will say it was just GvK. It was not at a chain theater. It was a privately owned location. My friend and I were the only two people in the theater.

My job and connections got me this opportunity. It was not a test screening or a screening for critics
Does Kong make Godzilla bleed?

Sorry I posted the same question twice, for some reason the question abt whether or not Kong bled didn’t show up my screen and then I saw you responded lol.

I see, I thought it was kinda like a WB event or something. Btw how do people outside USA (as in people with no access to HBO MAX and with the Cinemas closed) watch the movie. Say, like in UK ?

Hi weezerspider I'm a fan of Oguri Shun.Is his character dead? What's the battle between Kong and warbat like? My English is not good, thank you for your answer.

What happens in Florida pensacola?

Both of these questions have been answered before multiple times. Feel free to look through my post history or re-read the thread. :)

I don’t know, unfortunately. I don’t work for WB, but not a bad guess.

Hi again Weez I have another question for you.

I know you mentioned how the movie ends and how Godzilla and Kong go their separate ways, but I can't find the post..

Also, would you say it's fair to assume that Kong's journey is about him accepting that there's a bigger world out there? And that the world is Godzilla's kingdom as he finds a place in it? It seems Kong never "bows" but would you say he understands that Godzilla is king?

Also, is there any point where Kong seems afraid of Godzilla?

Question for weez
Is there any explanation how and where and who built those massive chains for kong?!

Weez is a legend for answering so many questions. Although I will say, some of these questions are leading towards fanfic territory with how strangely specific they are
Yeah, I think he’s answered nearly everything abt the movie lol, what an absolute legend

On the contrary. A lot of these questions, especially from new posters (and not so new posters like myself) come from Tohokingdom, where such speculation and leaks have been discussed ad naseum. Clarity about nuanced details and characterizations that may not even be relevant are strongly desired.

@weezerspider, I have a pretty general and I think non-spoiler question.

Do you think the character work is any better or worse than in the previous movies, or about the same?

From what they've said, it pretty much seems to be the same, though that could vary from person to person.

Thank you for your patience!
So a previous report suggested that Ghidorah somehow "haunts" the movie. How does that happen? What exactly does the head from Kotm have to do with Mechag?

Kong drops the Axe. Godzilla roars at him. These seem to be their ways of acknowledging each other. Godzilla goes to the ocean as Kong watches. Kong is back at Skull Island at the end. Kong’s story is finding Hollow Earth and his ancestry, I’d say. I don’t think he’s ever scared.

No

Yeah. It’s about the same.

@weezerspider
Does APEX have any spys infiltrated within Monarch?

Yes. About half the team on Team Kong is only going to Hollow Earth to get the power for MG.

This is reading in between the lines on my part and is debatable. They are using the skull and the DNA from the skull to telapathically connect the pilot with MG. It goes haywire when they get the power source from Hollow Earth, but because they make a point of explaining that it’s Ghidorah’s DNA, my friend and I thought maybe that’s part of why it goes wrong.

Thanks @weezerspider. Sounds like this movie will be a fun time.

It is my favorite blockbuster experience since Fury Road, though I admit the MCU has grown stale to me which is definitely not a heavily shared opinion here. I’m not saying it’s better than Endgame or anything like that for those into that.

To help me get some context to gauge your opinion, what were your opinions of Godzilla 2014, Skull Island, and King of the Monsters?

Small follow-up, if it wasn't clear, I'm not trying to challenge your opinion or anything, just get some idea of whether your opinion might line up with mine and give me some idea of what to expect.

@weezerspider Hey man, I had a couple more questions if that's okay with you

-Despite the fact that Kong lost against Godzilla in the end, would you say he was necessarily weak or a pushover?(I see a lot of people saying this)

-And in your opinion....
Coolest Kong attack/move:
Coolest Godzilla attack:
Coolest Mechagodzilla attack against either and/or both of the main bois:
Coolest G&K Tag Team Move other than both of them throwing him into a building:

Really appreciate you answering all these questions!

No worries. Didn’t take it that way at all.

Godzilla 14: The opening is great up until Cranston dies. After that, the human storyline is pretty weak. The set-pieces are all fantastic, especially Hawaii. I think they got too cute with the Jaws “less is more” thing with Godzilla. Godzilla is why you’re there, unlike the shark in Jaws. It has the best filmmaking of the series. I’d say 3.5/5.

Kong Skull Island: I find everything before they get to the island to be pretty dreadful. The characters are flat and the dialogue is mostly horrendous. However, once they get to the island, we get the best monster action in the whole series (until GvK) and the movie plays pretty well as a giant B-movie. The filmmaking isn’t as strong( bad script, I don’t like the look of the film and the Apocalypse Now stuff is so hollow), but it’s more entertaining than Godzilla 14. Overall, 3/5, but thats with the dreadful first have and a second half that is really entertaining.

Godzilla KOTM: basically a mixture of the first two. It takes itself as seriously as ‘14, but has a lot of the weak character’s of Kong with also plenty of the more B-movie stuff of Kong. The action is better, but still too much from the human’s perspective. It feels a lot like a big budget Showa film, which has its positives and negatives. I’d say probably a 3/5.

As you can see, I am not the hugest fan of the series, but I give GvK a 4/5 on first viewing and ALL of these I liked more on second viewing.
