There's a number of other monsters still around after the events of KotM, I can't help but wonder what they're all doing at the moment.

If Kong has been captured and removed from Skull Island in order to fight Godzilla (or Mechazilla) I'm genuinely curious why Kong was picked as the contender by humans.

Could it be that those other monsters have all been killed off by the mecha? Kong being the last other monster left with a chance at restoring balance?

Well, there is still that unresolved cliffhanger from KOTM involving one of Ghidorah's heads, so that could theoretically feature in this movie. I've also seen a theory going around that the head will be involved in the creation of MechaGodzilla.

and kong wins the hong kong fight, godzilla is defeated and then a second godzilla shows up which we see here, kong and everyone else is confused and then a weakened kong is going to fight this godzilla, kong will reveal it to be mechagodzilla. I'm excited for this movie but I can only imagine how the general audiences will react to Mecha Godzilla and this pretty much ending like BvS if it indeed does end in a team up

Looks like Legendary isn’t done with these characters even after GvK.

Realistically speaking we will never see these two in another live-action kaiju movie together, so them

Very unlikely they will be able to use any characters that originated in a Godzilla film, including GvK.

I am down for more kaiju stuff. Not thrilled with the animation studio though. I am not a fan of Castlevania.
