So an average silverback can flip an SUV-Kong is how much bigger than an average silverback? He also has the reach on Godzilla by about 2 arm lengths. Kong WILL get through his hide most likely with a piece of a building or somthing

He his absolutely smarter-was in the japanese version-(which i would believe you didnt know existed/hadnt seen) and will be in the Legendary version.

He knew how to take down that octopus to turn it to lunch, do you think that he hadn’t learned that? Was that the first time he did that? No-he learned and figured out a technique to defeat it. He will do the same here. How did you not catch this?

Godzilla foes threaten civilization........like a gigantic silverback would? Did you ever see what 1 silverback of regular size is capable of? Kong even has a more chimp like build and incase you havent caught the news these past few years, that make him able to tear limbs off even easier, he will be capable of picking Godzilla up with ease and tossing him.

Godzilla is slow, has been and always will be-Gorillas are not and remember that Godzilla has a very straight line path he has to adhere to, Kong doesnt.

He can bound around in any direction he sees fit and chuck something while hes doing that, godzillas distance attack is limited to wear his head can go and this is indeed a disadvantage. What will happen when Kong holds his mouth shut?

The buildings will collapse but that doesnt mean he cant use them to move around and that only puts obstacles in front of Godzilla and his stumpy arms and legs, he is aquatic, he is built for that environment and as for land he remains the outsider.

There will be throwbacks-Kong spinning Godzilla like a rag doll by his tail, Kong using large city sized bowling ball rocks to bash Godzilla in the head, Kong getting grazed by Godzillas fire and still moving forward.

the movie will be about Kong showing he is a bigger threat and pays zero attention to the monster honor code-this will most likely be why the anti-monster team will bring him in. Once this comes to light he will work with Godzilla to take them and what may be some type of mecha godzilla machine down. Will we see other monsters? I doubt it-mabey a quick Mothra or something considering how she somehow is always involved in some way but they need to time to commit to these 2. I am hoping to see us reintroduced to Kong by having him snatch up a full grown Skully and it look like a baby gator (probably what Godzilla looked like as an infant) and him chomp the head off for a snack.

probably be the last we see of Kong unless they do a direct sequel. He has an island of extremely dangerous monsters to keep in check while Godzilla is asleep.

Because Godzilla shrugs off every weapon known to man and Kong gets cut by a helicopter.
because whenever Kong’s is not in the same universe with Godzilla he gets killed by bullets.

Iconically Kong is known for picking up girls and getting machine gunned.
OTOH Godzilla is known for kicking the butt of every other Kaiju, eating nuke plants and steamrolling any humans foolish enough to stand against him.

The concept of the movie is already bad, if Kong wins it becomes the biggest case of jobbing of all time. A battle between the Home Alone kid and the Predator makes more sense.

You know its funny you bring up other universes-Tohos Kong(pretty sure you havent seen any of this stuff-had no idea Kong beat Godzilla already/had a mecha kong and beat him too) is pretty dam good in the water, swims alot infact, so that may be another check on his already longer list of advantages on Godzilla.

I fail to see how anyone can honestly argue for Kong here though; sure, he may be more agile, but if we look at Godzilla and the other creatures, they're titans that have existed for aeons. I suppose Kong could have a little more intelligence than Godzilla (cause mammals are depicted as being smarter than reptiles, generally, so if that follows suit, Kong will always be smarter than Godzilla) but stronger? I'm not so sure, I certainly wouldn't think Kong would be more durable that's for certain.

It'll further be interesting to see the size of Kong here, cause whilst he was big on Skull Island, he wasn't remotely big by Godzilla's standards, so is Kong going to have had a serious growth spurt, or will he be at a size disadvantage? If he's remotely sized to Godzilla, then that wall built by the inhabitants of the Skull Island tribe would subsequently be nothing to a fully grown Kong; he'd be able to step on it.

I have faith that Kong vs Zilla will have a good writing team behind it, and that'll it'll work out for the best, but if Kong does (by some miracle) claim victory, there best be a better conclusion than it being the result of a mere fistfight. Godzilla exists to protect the world, what does Kong exist for?

The titans have existed for eons but remember the Kongs are titans

The Titans we know have also been asleep/dormant/not born yet for decades and mabey even longer looking at these cave paintings so in saying that-they have all been active for about the same time when you line it up and not just this Kong has been literally fighting for his life during his entire life which is atleast 40 years. That is alot of time to spend in a threatening environment full of giant monsters.

Lets look at things on a basic level-

Godzilla being an Alligator/Monitor lizard and Kong being a Gorilla/Chimp

A man-as we know from Steve Irwin or those gator farms in Florida-can hold the arms and tail and so on on an alligator back. No man-no matter how strong-will hold the arms of an ape back, infact they’d probably get torn off if they tried.

Kong has very long capable arms that can do this and by this theory could rip godzillas right off. Now i know Godzilla is stronger than a gator and more balanced in his muscle and bone structure but the basics of this logic still exist. Lets even say if they are both equal in strength and durability-Kong still has the reach and speed on him. Say what you will for the fire and Kongs ability to use weapons-he still has the reach and speed on him. This is how fighters win fights and Kong is absolutely a fighter.

That's a dumb Octopus though; Zilla isn't just another dumb animal. It's a Titan. Zilla has had to use more than it's mass and strength to overcome foes too.

There's only one legitimate way that I could see Kong defeat Godzilla without a handicap, and that quite simply is if Kong is comparable in size, but quite frankly, that's just going to look stupid. A Gorilla the size of our current Godzilla I just don't think would transition well on screen.

I think it's being overlooked too at just how durable Godzilla is compared to Kong. Godzilla can withstand a nuclear bomb. Somehow I doubt the same can be said of Kong, and whilst they're not liking to be throwing nukes at each other, this, for me, is a clear indication of which giant can take more of a pounding.

I agree that Godzilla is smarter for sure but the Octopus scene was to show kongs ability to learn and to problem solve. We will see this when he is dealing with Godzilla. Godzilla is handicapped against Kong, hes a water monster. Stubby arms, slow, has a tail he can/will be grabbed by, he isnt as smart, his distance attack has a warning light-ect. He will also expect Kong to bow like the other Monsters and then he will get a rude awakening. That being said i can only hope there big battle between the 2 takes place on Skull island, i know they fight in the city at some point but if they stay long kong will level the place.

As for Kongs size they made sure to mention he had growing to do and with the pik that was shown recently it looks like hes now even taller than Godzilla so we are all set on that.

Quick note-I have to reiterate Kong already beat up Godzilla and used all these techniques. Im now convinced alot of people dont know this so im hoping this film sparks some interest in the original.
